Nice free overnight camping. City Park is on 3nd St.
Just a place to park.
We heard about this free campground and decided to check it out. The camping area is on the city park rd just South of 3rd and Fremont. Easy access and turnaround. Just pick a spot along the creek. They have a nice sports complex where we were able to watch 2 little league games, nice playground, tennis courts, and paved walking path. Two basic bathrooms with flush toilets and place to fill up water jugs. City also has a free dump nearby that we will use on the way out. Thanks, city of Lander!
As a freebie, Lander City Park is very good. Parked right along the river on Friday of 2017 Memorial Day weekend, and there was lots of space. The park was very nice with sports fields and lots of green space. The amenities in the camping area did not include showers or fire pits but it was an excellent overnight stop entourage to Jackson Hole. Camped in a 25' Winnebago View.
Gorgeous location, especially for free. Picnic tables and bbq pits. Thanks, Lander City Park!
