Nice but $10+ more than it should be
By user-5274543... on 2017-10-23.
This is a nice location that is out and away from any city. You can hear in the distance the interstate. I stayed here multiple times over the past couple of years.
The approach road is paved but a bit washboard. Drive slow and no problem.
The campsites and the roadways within the park are all lightly covered with gravel dirt. After rain or snow they are soft and there are ruts. The park should invest in some heavy gravel, or maybe bite the bullet and asphalt there roadways.
The sites themselves are not level, though I've never had an issue leveling my rig.
Bathrooms are clean and well maintained.
The Internet is OK to poor when the park is mostly empty (all my stays have been mid-winter). Like most RV parks they under invest in Wi-Fi infrastructure. I had excellent cell phone coverage and therefore defaulted to that when needing good data transfer rates.
I really do like the rural peacefulness of this park. The only thing competing against it are the state parks in the area, which are sadly closed in the winter.
My biggest concern with this park is its price, it is WAY overpriced! They can get away with this as there are so few choices in the area. Welcome to commerce I guess.

Not Up to KOA Standards
By user-5849835... on 2017-10-23.
Arrived in late afternoon. Was put in 50 amp site with busted water pipe. Water and mud everywhere and very low water pressure. Asked to be moved to another 50 amp site but told that was already reserved. Since when does KOA allow specific reserved sites? Later moved to 30 amp site for night. Noticed next day that no one moved into requested 50 amp site! Really poor management. For the money, I would expect a better overall park. Does not KOA inspect their campgrounds? Doubt I will ever stay here again.

Save your money
By user-6232784... on 2017-10-23.
Water pressure is very low and the water is brown!! Sites are not level and are very dusty. Access road is very rough, do not attempt with a full blader!
Wifi sucks!
The dog run is nice. Lady at the desk was nice.
Poor value for the money.

It worked
By user-6350521... on 2017-10-23.
We stay there about a year ago, It was for sale, which is why it needs a lot of help, the owners are not spring chickens anymore. We did have a great NM chilli buyer at their face. We would stay again.

Okay for an overnight stay yet not a place we would select as a destination park.
By user-5254201... on 2017-10-23.
Very bumpy road coming into park. Not enough rock on sites. It was rainy and very muddy. Water pressure is very low. The area needs cleaning up. Had to keep logging on the web. Not worth the money for a KOA.

Not what I expected
By user-5852854... on 2017-10-23.
Not what I expected from a KOA. All sites were gravel and ours was no where near level. Side to side wasn't too bad but front to back was terrible. Got there about 2 o'clock pm. And the office was closed, had to wait a couple of hours to check in. At least an employee showed up and took us to a campsite without having to wait for the office to open. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Did not use the restrooms or showers or pool. Highly doubtful that we will be in the area again , but would stop again for an overnight stay.

Just fine for staying over 1 night

Road is bumpy, but this is a semi remote location nothing your RV cant handle doing the 5mp speed limit as posted. Water system is gravity fed, such system are low pressure and it's clearly stated in the paper work. Internet is good for Facebook, email, if you are looking to stream movies this will not happen like most places. Price could be better, which is my only complaint.

Not that impressed

Low water pressure. Extremely difficult to find site when you check in late, very poor layout.
Trees seriously need trimmed back from the roads.

Quiet overnight but expensive
By user-4739273... on 2018-07-06.
It is a KOA so we all know they are way overpriced, but it was a quiet night after a long day drive. Short drive from the Interstate, be aware of the little sign to the park if you just pull off the Interstate. Friendly staff, great little cold pool. Good amenities, free good WiFi. We stayed only one night but probably won't be back.

I made reservations and paid with my credit card one week in advance. When I arrived the owner told me that he does not honor reservations and does not give refunds. Don't trust your reservation or your credit card at this KOA.

The hookup worked as it should. If you have a dog do not go here. The stickers are terrible. They did honor the online reservation.

Great place!
By user-5905717... on 2019-08-09.
Enjoyed our stay here. Even extended a night. So many things to see. Our site was unlevel, and a challenge to fix the dark!!!!!. Our dog did fine as long as she stayed on the road. Dog park was down a small hill. Boots is to old to go up and down to the park. We would return!! Thanks

Nice place. Quiet
Only complaint was the ants in the outside sitting area. Unable to use.
