Not so nice......
By anonymous-user on 2017-10-23.
Not sure what happened to this park because my husband and I were not as impressed as other reviewers. Park was rather dirty with bits of trash and cigarette butts here and there.Men's bathroom not so clean. There were some dicey looking full time rigs in the back. Dog run is 2 fenced kennels side by side that only a chihuahua could run in. Won't stay here again. Off season cost was 23.00 plus tax. They do give a 10% Good Sam discount.

Okay stop
By user-4560868... on 2017-10-23.
Stayed 2017-05-19 to 2017-05-20
This was okay for a one night stop. Site was level. There seemed to be a lot of permanent run down campers there. Seems to need some TLC to bring this place up to good standards. I did not check the showers or bathrooms out.

Clean park
By user-5220495... on 2017-10-23.
The bathhouse is the cleanest and nicest so far. Traffic noise not bad even though the park is right off the highway. The only problem we had was accessing the Wi-Fi with our laptops, our phones worked fine. This park has turned around from what the other person experienced.

June 2016

This was one of our favorite campgrounds, we were traveling from Western North Carolina to San Diego California. The young gentleman at the desk that checked us in was the best. He was so helpful and very nice. The campground was clean and very quiet.

Great over night park
By user-5802239... on 2017-10-23.
Agree with previous review. Park clean and neat including permanent rigs. Full hook ups with pull through sites which are close but room for slides. New gravel on roads and sites which also have picnic tables. Small store started in office with also a TV lounge. Great over night park for $25. Would stop here again.

Potential with no follow through
By user-5274543... on 2017-10-23.
Park went into new ownership about 1 year ago, a year before this review. Started investing in making it a nicer place including bathroom renovation and beginning renovation of the main building. Also said they were going to move out the low end residential. Last visit the place was a mess. Bathrooms were filthy, I mean filthy!. No staff around the building and the sites are falling apart after some money spent to make it better. Could be a great place but no follow through. Go to another location in Grants!

I would give them zero stars if I could I made a reservation with them over two months ago and did not have a place to stay when I arrived there today 6/2/2019.

Diamond In The Rough
By user-6188949... on 2019-08-09.
We spent seven weeks at Lavaland RV Park. The park is located beside I-40 and very close to a Walmart, Denny s, Walgreen s, and a couple of C-stores. Lavaland is a medium size RV park that is locally owned.
The park seems to be a mix of full-time residents, long-term contractors working in the area, and short-term (many are only stopping for one night). Unfortunately, most of the full-time residents do not keep their sites and RVs clean. And, the owner apparently doesn t care about the appearance of these sites. The transitional sites are well maintained.
As an overnight stop, Lavaland is a great option. Super convenient and reasonable rates.
For a longer stay, I believe the owner needs to make several improvements for Lavaland to become a five-star RV park. These improvements include, upgrading the parking area around the office, upgrading the laundry (one washer and one dryer is not enough), having the garbage dumpster emptied before trash is running over, expanding the office hours, and adding a kitchen to the brewery so food is available.
There is a great deal of potential at Lavaland. Any RV park with a brewery on-site has the potential to become a five-star destination, not just an overnight stop.
