This is a member's only, patented gold mining campground owned by the Lost Dutchman Mining Association (LDMA) and the Gold Prospectors Associaton of America (GPAA). Non members are welcome to camp overnight as space and private events permit. Gold mining requires a one time 3 day pass and caretaker approval. No dump station, laundry or showers but there is dry camping, water and electric hookups. Nothing fancy, just a safe, quiet, pet friendly campground filled with gold miners and lots of tales.
A great place to stop for the night. Friendly, helpful caretakers. We camp in a trailer and the freeway and train noise wasn't a problem for us. I love trains to begin with. This was a great stop for us on our way up north. We stayed an extra night because it was relaxing and quiet. We felt very safe.
