| Le Lynn RV Resort - Nice place to stop

My wife rode in this year's MS 150 near Disney World. Even though we're "local", we thought it would be nice to bring the MH near to where the ride starts (2 day, Saturday Sunday). The first day started at the old Fantasy of Flight in Polk City (about 20 min south of Disney). I looked around and saw Le Lynn RV resort is right next to Fantasy of Flight. The place seemed to have mixed review from "wonderful" to "crumbling infrastructure". But for what we needed I figured how bad could it be? The Resort is right off of Exit 44 on I4. You can see the DC-3 from the old Fantasy of Flight attraction on the highway. The place is old, but fairly well maintained. Lots of new Park Models being put up, many old ones still there. We got a lakeside lot with utilities set up for front pull in to face the lake. We were next to the small boat ramp. The pad was long enough for my 40' Discovery and to still be able to pull the CRV in behind. There is a small pad for a picnic table and chairs. It's full hook up with 30 and 50 amp service. Most of the pads are not in great shape. The power seemed fine (one review I read said they had power problems, I didn't). My picnic table was old and crumbling. I'm sure we could have asked to swap it or move to another site since there were lots of empty spots, but we didn't bother. The staff was very friendly. It's like $30/night so our 3 nights was less than a day at Fort Wilderness. The view of the lake was very nice. My only complaint was that my awning side faced due west so after around 4 the sun made it uncomfortable to sit outside till around 6ish. Not sure how security is, looks like lots of snowbirds here that have already gone north. A couple of people who were not staying here pulled up to put boats in the lake and within 5 min someone from the front office showed up to chase them away, so the office staff is watching. There is a pool, shuffle board courts and a fishing pier, all old, but well maintained. Also, no credit cards here. It's cash or check. So if you're looking for a spot to stay for a couple of days (or even longer, met a guy from N Carolina who had been here all winter) that is between Orlando and Tampa you may want to consider Le Lynn. It's not really close to any of the attractions, but Disney, Legoland, Bok Tower are all within a 30 min drive. We'll definitely come here next year if the MS 150 is out of here again. I was looking for a nice quiet place in the country, away from the bigger cities. This is it! I stayed here a week, and would stay here again. Close to the interstate, but far enough away that you didn't usually hear it. You might hear it some from the lakeside lots. Beautiful sunsets over the adjoining lake. Very peaceful. Some sites are on the shore. Swimming pool overlooks the lake. Mostly snowbirds, quite a few permanent houses. All of the staff and residents were friendly. Laundromat was clean, machines worked well. All sites are concrete pads. A couple of the pull thru sites had settled, but all the others sites were level. Next to Fantasy of Flight.
