Reviews for Leander / NW Austin KOA

| Great KOA

By user-5309036... on 2017-10-23.

We were looking for a stopover for one night, coming from Dallas. The KOA met or exceeded all expectations. Staff was very friendly (I can't confirm the previous review, we had only pleasant experiences). Pool hours are great (9am - 9pm, great for an evening swim before riding on). Bathrooms were very clean and pleasant, actually these were the best bathrooms I have seen in two weeks. Overall this was a surprisingly excellent stay, especially when comparing it to some of the other resorts around Austin that charge you equally or more for less.

| Great place

This is the only place that I felt that was high standards. The staff was very friendly and helpful with what was in the area. Now the important stuff, wifi was great throughout the park and the restrooms were super clean. This is now the only place we will stay when in Austin TX.

Nice place, nice people. Bathrooms and laundry very clean. Great pool. Ron and Merry put on a very nice Labor Day BBQ on Saturday with live music and great food. Will stay again!

| Nothing special? rude owner

Campground is clean, and well maintained. As long as you do not mind overpaying for a spot this might be for you! There is nothing really special about it, and they are charging 49.00 a night. Extra charges if you have a guest come by to visit. Extra charges if you are there a few minutes after 11:00 check out time. Extra charges if you arrive 30 minutes before check in. Owner is not a nice person. The rest of the people who work there seem very nice. I left them a 4 out of 5 star review on KOA site so owner called to tell me that they did not need my business. Well thats a good thing because she sure was not going to get it!

| Charged us $130 extra fee to park truck and boat on a site long enough to fit. We felt like we were ripped off

This is a nice paved campground and the sites are very long. Plenty long enough to park everything you are towing, however the manager, Jason felt the need to charge us $10/ day in addition to the $800+ we paid for a campsite long enough to park the camper, truck and boat we were traveling with. We were there for a fishing tournament and all 20 of us camping there last week were charged the additional fee. We travel all over the country and have never been over charged like we were here. I reached out to corporate KOA to inquire and was told each KOA is individually owned and operated and that the owner sets the fees they charge. We probably won’t stay there again based on the charges. The dog park is huge and the pool is nice. The rest of the staff was friendly to us during our stay. If you choose to stay here - have your wallet ready - especially if you are traveling with more than one truck and RV.

| Great Stay!

We stayed here while visiting family in Austin. When I called to make my reservation, the owner suggested that if I just needed storage I could put it in his storage area for a lot less than having the rig sit on a campsite (and it was Memorial Day Weekend!) So he saved me a bundle!!!. For our last night in town we did come over and set up on a campsite to get all the systems up and running again. The pull thru was very long, level and the whole site very clean. Thanks to Jason for saving us some bucks and we'd plan to stay here for sure on any future trip to the area.

| Good park, flexible staff

We are supposed to stay over Memorial Day and had paid a non refundable site fee. Due to family issues we could not go and I wad worried or money was gone. But the staff just rescheduled our 3 days to the end of November and said to call when we wanted to reschedule. So I really appreciate their flexibility in helping us not lose our money.

| Not quite a 4 , being charitable

Pull thrus are wide, long and level. Nice laundry room. Close to town for supplies and eats. Too close to TX 183 Toll Road overpass: lots of traffic noise. Also, management (not the regular staff) has no people skills-she should stay in the back office. Her attitude is a real turn off.

| Nice!

This is the most well thought out koa locations I have been to! Beautiful level sites, clean restrooms, a great playground, an indoor and an outdoor clubhouse with activities for all ages. And a staff that is both friendly and extremely helpful. A wonderful experience.

i am picky and rarely do reviews but this is a very nice campground. The dog park is the largest I have ever seen and maintained beautifully. The sites are long and spacious. I would come back here for a longer stay next time.
