We discovered this little Gem a few years ago and make a point of staying there at least 2 weekends a year. It's a small tight campground right on the Rideau canal beside the locks and swing bridge in the village of Merrickville. The staff is friendly and helpful and an unending supply of free firewood in the form of dried timber end cuts donated by a local truss company make for great, smoke free fires. The serviced sites are tight and the non serviced sites afford a little more space but where else can you see boats passing within feet of your font window. Merrickville main street is only a village block away and is filled with quaint shops and restaurants to explore, not to mention award wining Bacon maple butter tarts at a bakery one street over. Yum.
Walking distance to the shops, good bread in the bakery, lovely view to the sunset from our place, special offer: 7 nights staying and only 6 paying, not for long term stays( max 14 days)
