If you want an escape, this is it! Very little coverage on Verizon but there is a courtesy emergency phone at the guard shack that rings up to a 911 c-comm. The campsites are close but not too bad. The loops are great for walking and biking if you don't want to hit the trails. Plenty of wildlife to keep you on your toes. Took some nice photos, including a couple of the local gators. There is a host always on-site. Negatives: seeing how some folks treat their animals, children running through campsites that are not theirs (and unsupervised), and the occasional complainer that can never be pleased... or mind their business. Otherwise, I highly recommend this location. We are definitely going to make this an annual stop for the Keys visit.
But overpriced. $20 for a 24' for one night. No amenities.
This was my first FL State Park stay, and it was great! Lots of room between campers, quiet hours from 10 pm - 6 am, generators off by 8 pm. A beautiful little lake where they did Ranger lead programs. I d definitely go again.
