Great place! Run by volunteer fire fighters and is located behind the station. Clean, peaceful. It's only a 5 min drive into lake placid town. All proceeds benefit the fire station. Everyone was so helpful during our stay.
To add to my review below, this camp has only the necessities- sewer, water and 50amp electric (they have converters for 30amp). There isn't a bathroom, bath house or office. Check in with Bob from the fire station. This place is perfect if you just need a quite place to stay with the basics.
50A, water & sewer in an open field. But you can't beat the location for visiting Lake Placid. And there's access to the Chubb River for a short paddle. No bathroom, bath house, or garbage service either, but we'll be back. Rates in 2019 will be $40 per Andrew.
Full hook ups and relatively level site. Would give 5 stars if bathroom and shower availability
This was very convenient and we enjoyed the area. It is beside the fire station but not bothersome. There is a electric substation behind the sites so there is a constant hum but it s a white noise. If you walk down a little path you come out on the pond which is tranquil and nice. Saw many geese, a heron, ducks and a kingfisher. No tables or fire ring as well as no facilities. Need to be self contained. Would stay again if we were in the area.
Nothing fancy, full hook ups. No amenities but none needed. Personnel was very friendly and helpful.
