Reviews for Luray KOA

| Great park for Dog people.

This park is in a great location. I was raised in Virginia and use this as a homebase to show my wife my home state. VERY helpful and friendly staff. Went out of the way to help it's guest. It is off the "beaten path" however that is not all bad. We stayed in a 36 foot RV. HIGHLY recommend for dog owners. Great dog park!

If I could give 10 stars I would. Beautiful setting, quiet but kid friendly. Close to things to do off site. (Overnight to do Luray Caverns, a must see) One camper was showing a movie outside on a screen at his rig...Hope to visit again. We stayed in a 5th wheel toy hauler.

Very nice, well maintained, clean and lovely landscaped campground! Great dog park! KOA should bring all its operators here to see a well run operation. Only complaint was the wifi was slower than slow - very frustrating.

| Simply wonderful

What an amazing place, way more than we needed for a night stopover. The biggest dog park ever found in an RV park! The whole property was well laid out and extremely well maintained. So many options for sites. Cons: A little off the beaten path for a late night arrival though and a little pricey! Based on the estimate of $38-50 I was a little shocked at the total of $68. This is a place to spend a lot of time and we hope to have a chance to do that in the future.

| A Favorite

We have been coming to this wonderful campground for years. The owners were great and took such pride in this gem. We have not been back since it's become a KOA. I can only hope the same couple is managing it as we are not fond of KOA's; generally speaking. It was quiet, quaint and not geared specifically for kids which was why we loved it so much. We always came in October during "apple time" in the valley and of course fall color. If it has stayed true to the Schumacher's vision, it's a wonder get away in a gorgeous mountain setting.

| Beautiful Campground

Large well laid out campground, well run by friendly, helpful staff. Clean restroom/showers. The delux patio sites are very nice, but all the sites are good, IMHO. Every site has full hookups, with 20, 30, and 50 amp plugs. We paid $121 for two nights but the location of this campground, near the Shenandoah NP and Luray Caverns, was well worth it to us.

| Beautiful!

We traveled from Culpeper to Cape Cod Massachusettes. The last day of our week long trip was to stop just an hour from home at Luray. This was the best campsite of our entire trip. Each site for RVs had a cement platform with table and chairs and then a separate built in platform with lounge chairs and built in fire pit. The views were incredible. Georgous site with a large fenced in dog play area. We will definitely be back!

CAUTION on route 211 west- VERY twisty road. recommend coming in from I81 instead. really nice campground with great views. staff very friendly and helpful. not very big but have rv and tent sites as well as yurts for rent. all rv sites have water, electric and sewer. would stay again for sure.

| Beautiful and Quiet

Such a beautiful, clean, quiet campground! While it may not be the most spacious of RV spots (but much larger than most KOA spots), the open field in the middle of the loop and the expansive views of the surrounding mountains help you to feel as if you have it all to yourself. The grounds are immaculate. The pads are level. And the bathrooms are near spotless. The only downside to the entire stay was the flies. (Assuming the surrounding pasturelands contribute to this.) While this has absolutely nothing to do with the administration of the business, just a heads up so campers can prepare with fly traps, etc. You definitely want to stay here.

Well maintained campground. Staff checked area every day. Even cleaned picnic tables. Large sites. Didn't feel cramped and crowded.
