We stayed for about 10 days in August 2014, it was very peaceful & relaxing. The beach is just a short walk or bike ride, flat level concrete pads, New washer & dryers, the pool is very clean & well kept. Can't wait to visit again in 2015
We love the location of luxury, walking distances to beach and restaurants, and nice pool. The cons plenty of sand around spots, dog gets bitten by something in the sand, and due to the amount of summer monthly rentals it is hard to get a spot. Also, some of the summer rentals think they own the place and take over the pool.
This park is in a great location. It is conveniently located on the Parkway, but is far enough removed so that you do not feel like you are on the parkway. The public beach and a few restaurants are within walking distance. Staff was helpful and friendly. There's not a lot for children to do on site, but hey, it's the BEACH. We will be going back.
Luxury RV Resort used to be our favorite and most often visited campground. The location is great, the bathhouse is clean and air conditioned. Everyone in the office knew us when we called or came in. Then they had problems with some customers in pop-ups and decided not to allow pop-ups any longer. Our 10+ years of history meant nothing. The last time we checked out, they suggested that we buy a bigger rig so we could come back. That was insulting!
After freezing our butt's off on the way down, fighting mountain after mountain, we finally dropped the jacks in Gulf Shores Alabama. A warm greeting in the office, welcoming us to their park, told them about my lack of backing up skills and they promptly set me up with a spot that had plenty of room for me to practice. Once we got set up ...sat at a picnic table the first night in shorts overlooking all the condo's lit up,,really not speaking had we finally arrived?? The park is very spacious, super clean bathrooms, great laundry, with a beautiful new looking pool in case you want to take a little dip while your clothes are drying .... I have seen some reviews about the beach being too far..!! Well this people need to get over it.. The beach is a hop skip and a jump on your bicycle, or a good little walk ...No problem While your at Luxury, make it a point to hit "Desoto's" best sea food on the beach and a very fair price.. All in all our experience was five star all the way at Luxury RV

Nice level concrete sites, although rather close together. Bathrooms were clean, and had a code to get in but once in, no way to lock other people out. It was very quiet and peaceful, and only a half mile walk to the beach! There is a very nice Dollar General a quarter of a mile down the road. The best Seafood Restaurant, The Shrimp Basket, is across the street from the Dollar General. You can't beat the location, if you don't mind being close to your neighbor! We will stay again.
Very nice park for the money. Nice clean pool and showers. Spacious lots. Will definitely be back there.
We just got our first motor home this year; to learn what we are doing going into retirement in 5 years and to be able to travel with our 2 dogs. With our limited experience, this is most of what you could want in an RV park, truly it's 5 stars: EXCEPT for the dogs! Yes, they are pet friendly, lots of dogs and most were over the 40lb limit in the rules. BUT IT IS NOT PET FRIENDLY-why: SAND SPURS ~ THE park is over run with them. 3/16 round balls with 12-18 Seriously sharp spikes hard as steel. They come from a nice little yellow flower throughout the Gulf region. My dogs got 4-6 between there toes every time we walked and would lay down and couldn't walk. We started carrying needlenose pliers and scissors to cut them out. They can be irradiated because there were none at Gulf Shore Beaches or the Dog Park at Clubhouse Drive about 2 miles away where we had to take them. SO apparently this park doesn't want to do what's necessary to clear them. I almost pulled out a day early just because of this. SO, if you have pets STAY AWAY! If not, this is truly a 5 Star Park. The only other problem is no campfires. Full Concrete level pads and patios, paved road and sidewalks-even these had blown sand SPURS on them. Pool walking paths, stores, beach, everything you want is close. WE were happy with everything else.
Not dog friendly at all. Not even the town is dog friendly. They have a banned dogs list a mile long. How many RVers travel with dogs??? Sand fleas, red ants, spurs everywhere. No propane fire pits. Feel like we were being constantly watched by a grumpy old man who drove thru the park all day and night, looking into campsites, walking up behind your campsite (I think he was looking into my camper)!! 3 showers and only 2 worked (needing major updating). No activities. No mail service (office doesn't want to be bothered). Our German Shepherd dog is very well behaved, but we were asked to leave because of his breed. The dog did absolutely nothing!! Although they let us stay with him and took our money and it was fine, but not after the month we paid for. Really a shame since I belong to an RV travel club and we coordinate rallies. Your loss!!
Hard to knock it-clean facilities, great location and nice people. We stayed in Class A motorhome without a car (just had our bikes) & able to get to beach, restaurants & shops without a problem. We left our fur baby at home & glad we did. They are strict on dog rules.
