This is a fairly quiet, older, well maintained campground that is just a campground with no extra activities. 1.3 miles south of I-75 exit #337 on Mackinaw highway. Most lots are pretty spacious pull thrus, allowing us to park our 34ft fifth wheel sideways, parallel to the road, thus freeing up extra space for our son and his wife's tent this weekend for the Bridge walk. 30amp(with at least one 50 amp site), water hook-up, picnic table, and fire pit on each site plus a dump station. Most sites have good shade trees, with a large open field that may be for tent campers. It's less than 2 miles south of Mackinaw City which makes the $20 fee($130/week) quite reasonable, considering all other rv parks in the area are at least $25-$50. When you're going to be spending all your time in Mackinaw City or on Mackinaw Island, all your looking for is a place to spend your nights close by. The slight drawbacks are low water pressure, 40 psi, and low voltage on the 30 amp hookups(111 volts with the park half full on a warm day with air conditioners running). We'll see if the voltage or water pressure gets any worse this Labor Day weekend when the park is full. Park wifi is weak but usable some of the day right now with the park half full. Dish satellite reception is a little iffy on many sites due to tall cedar trees on most sites, though we were able to find a narrow opening that worked. Overall it satisfies us for the purpose of a reasonably priced, nearby place to sleep at night.

The fee is now $20. It has fire pits and firewood water and electric. it is the end of May and the mosquitoes I really bad. So we could not enjoy the fire pit. but the actual campground is fine it has a nice little creek they call Rainbow River.

We liked this campgrounds. It had everything we needed and reasonably priced. It is privately owned but is self check-in. No reservation necessary. First come, first serve. There is a enough pull-thru sites with electric and water. Clean, grasses sites and wooded park.
Loved the honor system for paying for wood and camp store essentials.
I would stay here next time I am in the area.

Definitely no frills but nice and quiet. It had what we needed for a good price.
I had to clean all the trash out of the fire pit though.

Can't say enought good about this campground. Don't let the $20.00 scare you. Very nice place. Now it's not fancy, only a safe, clean, Honest place to camp. Spent 2 days and nights here in a cold fall and loved it.

Basic park, fair price

As others have mentioned, it's a basic park for people who are here to visit Mackinaw City or Mackinaw Island, so you don't want to pay for a lot of amenities you won't use. We've stayed here several times & like it, but there are 2 negatives. The water pressure is very low at 29psi as measured at the park faucet, & the 30 amp electric voltage is a little weak. It measures ok at 124v with nothing running, but drops as low as 114v with the microwave & elec water heater running. That's an excessive drop. A healthy electrical system would only drop 4-5 volts.

This is a no frills and basic campground and I would stay here again and again. You have wtr/power and a dump station, what else do you need? Two miles from Star ferry that will take you to Mackinaw Island. Recommend you reserve a spot. Honor system for everything ie wood, eggs, drinks and candy. Pretty cool place....

By user-5788379... on 2019-08-09.
Nice places with clean pit style toilet. Had new fire rings and a charcoal grill. Electric is offered at the same price as non electic. $20 flat can't be beat. Went in June going back in July.

Pretty level. Easy in easy out. Dump station is easy access. Very basic. But if you have what you need in your RV then it works
