In the woods and close to the trails. It's simple, but they have fresh water and flushed toilets. We would choose it again!
If Canyon is the best location Madison is a close second. Not far from the geysers... The canyon... Or the paint pots. What we loved most were the little wooded sites. No services of course no phone either but the setting was great.
We stayed here and would stay again. We had to call for larger sites for our length-suburban and 25 trailer. Site was pull through. We were on loop B. It was nice area. They have a general store and the river is walking distance where we saw buffalo! Good location in the park.
Stayed for 6 nights Pretty much all the CG are the same in Yellowstone. BYO showers and electric. All our trips were full 8 hours. Every loop was great. One day N, next day E, then W and then South. This CG is close to the town of West Yellowstone. I travels after 9 and got back after 7 and the traffic was ok. Expect Bison traffic jams., everyone wants a picture. Pack a lunch to travel and you ll be set. CG was clean. Genny for a couple hours then shut em down. The rangers do enforce the rules. Food, noise etc. We traveled with our dog and it was great!
This is a cool place with super friendly staff and no cell phone service - best thing about it. Sooo peacefull. But: the main road from west yellowstone is just next to it and therefor it is rather loud.. All the time Sites tight and not quite level No showers and only shared bear storage boxes available
Love this campground in Yellowstone. The staff is very friendly and the restrooms are very clean (flush toilets!). It's a little far from a lot of the destinations in the park, but driving in Yellowstone is part of the experience.
Just inside the park we got a site on the edge overlooking a valley. BEAUTIFUL!!! Clean quiet.
