What a beautiful place to camp!! To be clear it's, complete dry camping, no shower, no dump station But so beautiful and peaceful. Large camp sites. Hiking right from the campground.
Due to construction nothing open but visitor center
Miriad of wonderful trails. Nice geology and zoology in small museum. Striking geology. Rangers and hosts friendly and helpful. Gravel sites flat for RVs well spaced with a few trees. Each site has fire ring. Several beautiful sites for tents quite secluded. Road nicely paved up to RV campground. Unpaved is good for a jeep/4 wheel drive (unpaved road very slippery when wet). Pit toilets throughout the park. Worth getting park pass, $35, for nonresidents. Pass covers all entrance fees to MT parks and $10 off camping fees for MT parks.
This park does not deserve any veteran . I was broke, out of fuel and overheating truck. Would they allow me to park overnight? NO, would they give Veteran discount? NO Would they offer any help NO. I will never go back to my dying day
