Rude host. Superintendent was ok. Yellow jacket nest got the kids so that was fun. Low hanging branches. Dead trees not removed from campsites. Cracked windshield due to falling black walnuts. Cracked bathroom vent cover. Stay in section 1 only in cottonwood trees. All else is black walnuts.
Stayed here two nights as I was passing through the area. Nice clean park with lots of interesting things to do.
Stayed for an overnight. Plan to come back another time and stay longer
This is a nice place to stay, we meet friends and stayed the weekend, would have been nice if they would have let us stay face to face in the pull through sites but we moved for them. Will be going again great half way spot of us and our friends
I hate to write a bad review about a state park, but this was a miserable experience for one night in an RV. Signs in the park were confusing at best and the campground itself sits way back in the park and was difficult to find after dark. Due to recent flooding, the whole place was covered in mud, sand, and silt. Hooking up resulted in mud up to the knees. The sewer was a good 3’ above grade of the site — I don’t know how the heck you could ever use it. I walked to other sites and they appeared to be the same. The WiFi was pretty much not functional (maybe enough for a text message) and there is no cell service at all.
We have been here twice and are planning on returning. Spots are big, nice and close to the river. Cave was a lot of fun for everyone. Park is clean and well kept.
