Upon arriving at this place it seems to be majestic but there however the people that work there are rude an unfriendly and seem to be uncaring I called today which is June 16th to cancel our July 4th weekend and was charged $20 for two sites I've never been charged that unless I will head to one week before arrival date.

| Nice Place!

We had a nice time here. The park roads are one-lane, so you have to be careful going in and out. Most of the spots have trees and the power poles can be in odd spots so you have to align properly to put out slides. Our grandson had a great time riding his bike, and then fishing/swimming in the lake. We used this as a launch pad to see Crabtree falls, the Fishery, Grand Caverns, and do some Kayaking on the James River. Route 56 is harrowing with lots of steep switchbacks, so pay attention to the tip on their website: "* If you are towing anything larger than a pop-up camper we recommend coming to Montebello via the Parkway. We are only 3.5 miles off the Parkway." There is ZERO reception of anything at this park, so no TV/Wifi/Phone/Data.
