Beautiful park and wonderful campground. Very busy on the weekends. Some spots are a little tight but still very enjoyable. We have actually extended and are spending 2 full weeks here.

We loved this park! We went to the website ahead of time and chose our spot based on the map, site dimensions/description and photos. The map and photos of each site really helped us select the perfect site. We reserved ahead an paid just under $41 total, including day use fees, for a premium river front site. The campground has lots of trees/shade (not satellite friendly), a river, is easy to navigate, beautiful scenery, clean restrooms, and the sites in our area were incredibly wide/large with plenty of space cushion around so we weren't on top of our neighbors. Our site had hookups and was hard packed gravel/dirt. It was more than big enough for our 25' motorhome. We put our dogs outside on 15 - 20 foot leads and they had plenty of room to play and explore on and around our site without encroaching on neighbors sites. There were lots of families with kiddos, who were out riding bikes and having fun. Once it got dark, things quieted down and it got nice and dark. Good for sleeping! The park was fairly crowded and the ranger came along the morning of our departure around checkout time to make sure we were vacating our space so they could ensure the next person wouldn't find us still there. Fair enough. I would definitely recommend this beautiful park and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again...only wish we'd had more time stick around to chill and enjoy the nice weather.

Have never seen so many dogwood trees, even in the campground. This is an older park, with sites pretty close together, but upgraded and livable. Bathhouses older but clean, and there are plenty. Very wooded - some inside sites looked difficult to get into with a long 5th wheel. The camp store & check-in folks are very nice and I feel sure they or other campers would help you negotiate the trees if needed. Ours was a long site #104 which backed up to a running stream. Reservation system is good but I called the park once to ask about sites and a second time to make a change - both times they were friendly, helpful & accommodating. Might call ahead for directions off I-40 (not too far off for an overnight). Iphone Map App took us on a winding, hilly back road; highway route much better. We stayed 2 nights, so we could enjoy the park, in a 37' 5th wheel. Will definitely return when traveling in this area.

Very Nice.

We stayed only one night on our way back from the Smokies. We had site#100 that was located right on the creek. The water was very calm and clear and the site was fairly level. I agree with the previous post that a few sites are a bit tight, but overall we enjoyed staying there. There are a bunch of hiking trails and a nice golf course as well.

Beautiful & well maintained park. Our site backed right up to the stream. Great trails all around! Agree that some sites are tight but it's worth it!

Wooded on river
By user-5248427... on 2019-08-09.
Electric and water sites plus FHU available on river. E/W sites on river are really big and long, esp 88,90,92. Can easily accommodate a big rig, if your proficient at backing up. FHU 107, 110, 113, 116, are along the river and could handle a bigger rig but are less private. From those sites, you can step right in the river to play. Reservations are online and you just go right to your site. We've been 2x and both times, the "full" sign is out at the campground and its bairly 1/4 full so I'd check with the host. I'm sure it fills up on weekend in the summer but when we're there during the week, it's pretty empty. Bathhouse is minimal, 3 toilet stalls, 2 shower stalls with no dressing area.

Nice campground
By user-6478790... on 2019-08-09.
The campground is very shaded, bath house was clean and most sites looked to be level but a bit closer together that what we typically like. Great trails to hike plenty of places to ride bikes. The old church, log cabin and the spillway were beautiful to visit. There is a DG store close by along with a few others if you forget anything. We will go back again. Came in with a 31 ft 5th wheel.

Site 116 with our 31 5th wheel was great - full hookups backed up to running creek. So glad we called and could switch to 50 amp FHU because I d unknowingly put us in a site (#17 WE only) in the only area of parking-lot sites (about 5 sites there)!
Gorgeous park, conference center and restaurant, neat looking villas. Wooded campground on a creek. Roads a little narrow but passable. Not too far off I-40 for an overnight stay but look at a map or call for directions. Iphone map & Waze took on country backroads!!
