Really Good RV Park

We paid $35 for 1 day on Winter, and the park is really good. It has a good view and the employees are very polite.

Great Camp Sites, Beautiful Area

This is our favorite place to camp. It's a small park so reserve early. Friendly and helpful staff. A very natural setting in the south end of the town of Morro Bay. Very close to the beach, the wharf, golf, deep sea fishing, and Morro Rock.

While we are self contained and normally don't care about hookups, all of the bathrooms within walking distance are out of order. Seriously? Since we are staying a while over Christmas we were planning to shower out of the rig. Ridiculous that those restrooms are not maintained. Also, the signage will not help you figure out when GPS screws up. We were quite lost and broke our digital antenna off on a tree turning around!

Lovely Setting

This park is in a great location at the south end of Morro Bay nestled between a marina and a golf course. We had a great dinner at the cafe in the marina, but you need to go early because it's a favorite place for the locals. We hiked up to a view point and discovered a Natural History Museum on the property. It was a great place to spend a windy afternoon. The next morning was calm, and the view of "The Rock" was stunning. We bicycled into town along the waterfront and golf course--absolutely beautiful!

Good little state park.

Morro Bay is a pretty small town and this is a great little state park right in the heart of it. Close to everything and really nice. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because most of the spaces are very small and you are VERY close to your neighbors. That's not ideal for us but for the location, we would absolutely stay again.
The natural history museum within the park is awesome and free for campers (regularly $3 for anyone over 16, 16 and under are free).

Variety of option

This State Park is not on the water but across the street from a marina (with an amazing restaurant). It has pull through sites with power and water, back is dry sites and bike/walk up sites. There is a State Park golf course adjacent to the RV park. We are staying mid-week in February and it is very quiet except for the occasional loud generator in the next loop. It's about a mile and a half to Moro Bay with no sidewalks the first half mile. There is one RV dump site on premises.

Mixed Bag

We've stayed here several time and have had a mixed bag. If you're in a full hook up site and have slides on both sides you're going to find the spaces to be too narrow. If it's raining the whole place turns into a mud bath. It's a state campground and probably for that reason you will occasionally get bad neighbors. And that's why we don't go there anymore. Loud obnoxious drunks, out of control kids throwing rocks at cars, someone running a generator all day and most of the night so they can watch TV. Really? But the worst was the three old fat ladies who did nothing but swear, smoke, and throw their trash under our rig was the final straw.
Nice place. Really bad campers.

Excellent state park

This is 50 miles from home and our favorite get away for a weekend. Large spaces, great trees. Walking distance to a great café and kayak rentals. Natural History museum and golf course right down the road.
No sewer hookup but a dump station on site.
