Reviews for Mount Vernon RV Park

| Lost reservation!!

By user-6090475... on 2017-10-23.

We tried to get a reservation here over a month in advance. We asked if there was a space for a total of 16 days. The owner said he wasn't sure but he would call us back and let us know. Three days after not hearing from him we called again he sounded upset that we called and he said he was 90 percent sure that we could stay there. Three days before we were to arrive we called to confirm and he was like you should have called me back because I lost your information but am pretty sure you can stay for the week. What about the other week we wanted to stay? Oh no he didn't have room for that!! So beware if you think you have a reservation here. We did find a place north of here that offers more for less money

The park was nearly full which was strange in October. However, about 90% of the people there are long-term. The park itself is fine and clean. Spots are ok but not much privacy. Lady is super strict about the 5mph speed limit (which is basically coasting in a car). Wifi was OK...sometimes got enough to stream Hulu but other times it barely worked.

Pleasant campground with hands-on, full-time management. Some paved and some gravel interior roads. Fairly level gravel sites have picnic tables in good repair. Hookups are well placed and work as they should. Sites are partial sun / shade. Tree placement on some sites can hamper entry and exit for big rigs.

| Quiet clean and big rig friendly

Our first ever parking our big rig in a park. I called for a 3 night stay. Lauren made some adjustments and got us in a full hook up spot vs 1 night full second night not 3rd not full. We asked about what to expect when we pull in she was clear in her directions. We got our spot. Small grassy area part of it is being seeded and roped off. The site is gravel. There is a tree but limbs have been trimmed not in the way of our 3 slides. Lots of full timers but homes are kept up, everyone seems nice. I was amazed how very quiet it was at night. WiFi is limited at times. Cable works. No issues at all. Well behaved pets on leashes. Near downtown Mt. vernon and co op they have a good salad/buffet bar, ice cream and coffee along with groceries. I heard it s hard to get in as the snowbirds are coming back, but so far it s peaceful.

We needed a last minute overnight stay late at night. We called and the host answered. Told us to let him know when we got there so that he could direct us to a spot. Gave us forewarning that the spot only had power hookup, but we were okay with that. The next morning we were only charged $25 since it was power only. That was a pleasant surprise. Site was clean but I can confirm that the sites are close to each other. No problem with our site. Gave us what we needed and next day we re off to the races.
