| The primitive campsites are good enough

By user-5835245... on 2017-10-23.

There is nothing down there but good views and some pit toilets. First come, first serve. Turn left before the main entrance of the park. The beach is shallow enough to put a canoe or kayak in, just beware of drunken jet ski morons. Grab a site and then walk back up to the kiosk to pay the day use and camping fee. The full hookup sites in the park look nice, but much closer together than the sites in the primitive area. There is absolutely no shade anywhere. The staff at the park acted like they knew nothing about the primitive camping area. Overall, perfect if for camping and paddling. If you have a motorboat, you cannot launch in the primitive area.
