| Not my cup of tea

Reserved a premium spot #82 that was not close to beach. And with no electric or water. There isn't a spot close to beach for overnights. Site was level and it appeared that most others were same. Campfires going at every site from 6pm until after 10pm. Smelled as if I was in a forest fire.

My family & I camped out here 2 nights while driving back home on highway 1 it was very nice exactly what a father needs after driving the kids in an Rv down the CA coast from Anaheim. Something for the whole family. I have 3 teenagers and 2 young ones. From spending the day at the beach to walking back up the ridge to the camp site. Watching the sun sink into the sea. Amazing. I did not have camp reservations for Saturday as the campground was full. So had to stay near by at a so called RV site no worth mentioning. I was informed by the rangers that there is a waiting list for last minute site that either have been checked out early or have been cancelled. FYI get to the ranger station early to be put on. I got there by 8:00 am Sunday morning & was told to come back at 1:50 pm as the available campsite will be offered in order by name on wait list. You can park down by the beach until then and enjoy the beach front access. Camp sites are all pretty good and was really clean. I only found 3 cigarette butts in my entire camp site which was extreamly large to accommodate my Rv and to pitch our large double tent and so much space to spare. But the premium sites by the edge are amazing. The sound of the sea rocks you to sleep. All check in is 2:00pm and check out is noon make it easier good to website reserve america for priority. We had a blast.... Oh ps if you don't have access to your own shower bring a roll of quarters for the showers.

Great views and friendly staff. The premium campsite have a great view. The catch is that they are dry. Still a great, quiet campground.
