We booked this during the summer. We picked the absolute best time, as the colors were spectacular (in mid-October). The small park has impressive accommodations. We camped in a small popup on a site with full hookups. We chose to use the on-site facilities because they are well kept. The trails are fun and meander playfully through the forest. The river is gorgeous, and I'm sure that is why many people visit. The fishing and canoeing on the New River are steps away from the primitive sites, and about a one minute drive from the RV sites.
