Don't know what the big deal is. Location is all that this park has going for it. We stayed here for the month on business and the section we were in were just a bunch of tired, ratty looking coaches/trailers. The dirt lot and chained-linked fence were such a big turn off. "Lagoon" had posted signs everywhere about contamination and such. The only thing nice was the huge heated pool. Everything else was not worth remembering.

Good times

We were here for the 4th of July and it was great. They had fireworks, activities for the kids and nightly shows at the theatre stage. Wi-fi worked when we needed to use it. Restrooms were ok. You could tell it was heavily used with garbage left back. Shampoo bottles, shower caps... otherwise I would come back.

This park was so cool!! The whole family enjoyed the beach, pool and activities! We loved it! Only nuisance was if someone wanted to come visit they had to pay to get in. Otherwise it was great!

Great place for family
By user-6472615... on 2017-10-23.
Pros: BBQing, kayaking, water playground, biking, so much to do everyday. Very clean.
Cons: planes start flying overhead at 7am. Store could hold more grocery items and need a closer to -go food restaurant.
Overall: we have been here twice and will come back!

Beautiful but Pricey

The location is near perfect. It's on a calm, protected cove so young kids can safely swim and the area is beautiful. However, service at the rental station to rent paddle boats, kayaks, etc is very slow and the customer service is lacking. Everything is also extremely over priced.

Quiet fall getaway

I love this place. Location is good and it's very pretty. We stay here when we go to Disneyland and then drive the 30 minutes to the park.
It has a beautiful walking path and great sites for big rigs. But the weather is amazing and many cool delicious restaurants are 15 to 30 minutes away. Lots of tourist things to do.

Nice but too expensive
By user-5343927... on 2017-10-23.
It's a nice place with many amenities but is twice the price of most all RV parks we have stayed at (Florida to California on this trip). Travel another 10 miles and stay at one of California's parks right on the beach for half the price.

Best up-scaled RV place around!
By user-6216590... on 2017-10-23.
Noticed that some comments were mostly about "pricey" - but not a valid complaint when you consider there is 24/7 uniformed security officers (carts and bike patrols). Prices do vary depending on season, time of stay, length, location, and hookup requirements. Beach bay sites were at a premium but others as low as $85 per night for our baby RV. Staff was accommodating and friendly. Each site has full hookups and Soft-lighted sites with some shade but all were adequate and privately fenced with table, and because this place was so close to the back bay area, the Pacific bay breeze kept everything cool. This place is not like a camp site in the woods but a modernly organized RV and Trailer weekender or weeklong parking facility. Full timers were parked elsewhere and out of view. If you want sandy beach, scheduled activities for all ages, kids playground, pedal or motorized cart rentals, places to shop and eat within walking distances, a full-service convenience store, restaurant, etc... And just watching new or classic (sometimes "Fun in Motion" RV's) and all kinds of RV and trailer models roll in from time to time, you will be enchanted here!

Holiday Fun

Newport Dunes is a destination in and of itself, but it is elevated by the neighborhood. ND sits in the midst of beautiful Orange County, just minutes away from some of the best beaches in Southern California. We stayed 5 nights that included Thanksgiving weekend. The park was packed and many sites had big family groups that partied right up to quiet hours. Thankfully quiet hours were enforced. The park had holiday activities that included turning on the lights setup in Back Bay.
We did not spend a great deal of time in the park as there is so much to do in this beautiful area. (Those that have complained about the price, should check out surrounding real estate prices. You are staying in a very exclusive community.) With Newport Dunes as your base, you can enjoy great local dining and breweries, walk on seemingly endless beaches, enjoy miles and miles of amazing bike trails or shop until you drop at Fashion Island. We'll be back.

This place was awesome! Ha it s own little bay with lots of activities to do for kids! It s really close to balboa island and just a 30min bike to Huntington Beach ...for not having any kids it was a little pricy but was still an enjoyable experience
