It has a stunning view of the surrounding mountains and the nearby buffalo bill Reservoir. It's pretty far from the main road so you don't have to much noise from passing traffic. The camp ground is divided between reservation only, utilities and dry camping. In high season we ended up in the latter. The spaces are large but the shade is limited in most lots. The restroom facilities are very basic 'hole in the ground' and showers are charged for. We stayed for 2 nights in the hope of moving through to a spot with electricity but had no luck. Cody is near with some sights and shopping facilities.

| 1 hour from Yellowstone's east gate.

Our biggest issue with this park and apparently all Wyoming state parks is that you have to pay almost double the rate if you bring in an extra car that is not being towed. If the same extra car is towed behind your RV, it's included in your regular camping fee. Sound confused? We were too, so we asked multiple park employees at two different parks. That is the rule. So, instead of paying $22 a night for water and electric, we ended up paying $39 a night only because our extra vehicle wasn't being towed. We didn't realize how far away this is from the gate to Yellowstone and then how far into Yellowstone most things are from the east gate. This park is pretty, with mountains surrounding it and a nice river running along side of it. There are pit toilets and pay showers. Showers cost $1 for the first 3 minutes. The sprinklers came on one morning and soaked our picnic table for about an hour. The one way road and the setup of our site (83) meant that our RV door and awning were along the road instead of where the picnic table was...so that was odd. We only stayed here two nights and then stayed at a KOA in West Yellowstone so we could be closer to the park and the gorgeous locations inside the park.
