One of the most friendly places I have ever stayed. Clean, quiet easy to find. I highly recommend you check them out.
There is a walk down to the beach, and limited view of the ocean, but the host, Lori, made up for it with the friendliest hug. Wonderful person, and a veteran. Improvements are in the plans, and this is a really quiet and peaceful place to stay. Limited dining locations with Blue Hill 11 miles away, but all the food we ate was delicious. Stonington was 40 minutes away but a quaint fishing town.
Away from the parking lot type camping in bar harbor, this location gives you spacious sites with wonderful ocean access. The entire campground is lightly wooded, while still allowing the ocean breeze in. The owners are remarkable. In two short years they have carved out a campground that is a treasure.
Hands down - this is my kind of campground: plenty of sites (but not too many), beach access, great WiFi at the office, beautiful views, within easy drives of Stonington and Acadia NP, nice hot showers, and clean pit toilets (cleaner than most flush facilities!) AND the owner is awesome. I keep coming back. See you next year.
