Reviews for Okatoma Resort & RV Park

| It was just OK

The roads leading to the park were so narrow as to be dangerous. Park had gravel & dirt road that was dusty. No cable TV, no on site Internet. The good, it was cheap.

We stayed there for several months while my husband worked nearby briefly. It was a wonderful park. They have made some major upgrades. The staff is wonderful and helpful.

I only stayed one night, but the staff was real friendly. Lots of permanent RV's there. They looked like weekend warrior's though. The place needs updated pretty bad. Every thing was old and outdated. Not sure if I would go back there.

Roads are worked on all the time. They are in good condition.

| Horrible shower/bath facilities!!

Shower and bath facilities were not fit for human use. When I spoke to the maintenance man, he just basically ignored me. The park itself was actually fairly nice.

Very nice campground. Quiet. A few potholes on the way in . We liked the large dog park. We travel with large dogs and it was nice to let them run and play.

This is a quaint, rustic, clean CG off Hwy 49 down a narrow road. The drive was very manageable, and the land is beautiful. The CG was very charming and peaceful. There is a pond with ducks, and a lot of the sites back up to the pond. We had a pull-thru, FHU site that was gravel/dirt and level. We were passing through and only stayed 1 night. However, this is a place where we would've enjoyed staying longer. The owners were very friendly. There was plenty of space to walk the dog. WiFi was non existent even though we were right next to the router. We couldn't hook up to the satellite as a Direct TV box is needed, but we were able to get OTA channels. We had good Verizon cell coverage. A previous poster gave a horrible review about the bathrooms. Out of curiosity, I looked in on them, and they were fine. They are old and could use some updating and freshening up for appearance sake, but they were clean. We would stay here again.

| Lovely Hidden Campground

This is a great place for an overnight or a quiet few days trip. We came in after dark but a staff member still came and met us on the road, guided us in, and even showed us to our spot. The road in is gravel, windy and surrounded by water, but overall fine and well maintained. We had a level pull through spot on sand gravel, but I would recommend getting a back in spot around the lake- the view is lovely! We wish we had had time to go fishing in the lake. There are lots of ducks and birds, and one of the long term residents is keeping chickens, which were roaming around early in the morning, and help keep the bug population down. We paid a very reasonable $25 for 50 amp service full hookup. We plan on coming back and staying longer!

| Great place, helpful friendly staff, nice lake

We left the campground down the street because of the very unhelpful staff. At Okatuba, they were very helpful and accommodating. Will definitely be back for a longer stay.

| We would be happy to stay here again!

Very nice park, friendly staff. There are a lot of amenities here, pool, hot tub, fishing, dog park and the list goes on.. We would be happy to stay here again. Thank you Mary Ellen for your hospitality.

About two miles down a narrow road, but staff was friendly. Passport America rate was 14.00 for one night. Utilities worked well and pull thrus were fairly level. I would return. We were in a 38' Class A with toad.

Nice c as campground however you need to drive narrow farm roads above ok it 5 miles to campground. We were lucky no other traffic was coming as I'm not sure both of us would have been able to move forward. One of us would have been stopped off the road waiting for the other to pass. Campground would be a great place for locals or someone looking to get away from the city. Not such a good place for just to stop for the night. Did not use any facilities. Everything did look nice. Rate of stay is using good sam discount

| Nice Park!

Enjoyed our one night stay. Nice, quiet night! Went for an enjoyable walk around the park in the morning. Beware of 4 big dogs off leash outside of park property in private driveway if you go for a walk.

| Great for multi-day stay

This is the third time we have stayed at Okatoma (we are from New Mexico), always for two or more days. New owners are definitely improving and increasing maintenance: it is better each time. I believe next in line is to renovate the bathhouse (far side of lake) and possibly add a second (near side of lake). Few mosquitos. The reason to follow the website directions rather than the googlemaps directions is that the googlemaps (GPS) roads do not have trees trimmed for trailers/campers/etc.
