Very nice camp ground. We have a 27ft class C. You wouldn't want to try and anything much bigger. Beautiful, nice views and private, Very quite, 2 nice little hikes. Fire pits, tables
We stayed one night after visiting White Sands National Monument before heading to Carlsbad Caverns. Two nice nature hiking trails. Great views from elevated park sites. New water and electrical hook ups. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Water and electricity at some sites. Restrooms are clean. Great view of the city and the mountains.
Desert park well maintained. Beautiful views and 2 nice hiking trails. Variety of different size sites, so drive around and look if you have a bigger rig/tows. We stayed in #4 and our 31' motor home just fit, but there are larger sites. Alamogordo is 15 miles away with fast food and Walmart. Would stay here again!
May be pretty warm in summer but perfect for new years camp. Take water and hiking sticks and enjoy the views and peaceful nights.
Stayed for the last weekend of the year (2017) and the place was packed. I understand why. The weather was great and the views outstanding. Went to the "White Sands National Monument "which is a quick drive. Also took two wonderful hikes in the Lincoln National Forest. Would visit again.
This campground has a lovely view of the valley, a terrific desert garden and visitor center, and plenty to do both in the park and nearby. We stayed an extra day.
Wow, what a great State Park! A bit off main roads but level gravel spots and the view...wow! 14.00 a night, dump station is close by. Great hiking trails but watch for rattlesnakes, we met on and couldn't get around him to continue. Close enough to White Sands, White Oaks and Tree River Petroglyphs. Highly recommend. We had site 1 and loved it. Our big window in the back faced the mountains and we didnt get alot of morning sun so it helped with temperatures. Just beautiful, stop you wont regret it!
