We arrived at Organ Pipe in mid-December 2017. The place was about 1/5 full. Perfect weather, nice concrete pads. There is a no-generator section and a section with limited generator hours. Very well maintained, and lots of great trails. There are two trails you can take your dog on. We got Verizon cell service, and our T-Mobile devices were roaming on TelCel Mexico (which was free for us) so we were covered. I highly recommend this campground!
Very scenic views from sites! More of a million dollar view, but I'll take the bargain at $16/night (with national parks pass). Campground smartly divided by rigs with generators, without, and tent campers. Many spaces, but there were a surprising number taken in January. I guess we weren't the only ones who had the idea to escape the cold snap. ;) Fantastic hikes through green desertscapes. Your phone will start to grab reception from Mexico. Other campers warned us of traffickers near the border, so we kept safe and alert as always while hiking but as always, didn't let fear drive us as we enjoyed our adventures.
With very few exceptions, I love NPS campgrounds and this one is no exception. The campground is nicely laid out, sites are spacious, navigation is easy. We stayed here in April and had it mostly to ourselves. Take the scenic drives and hike the trails, beautiful desert country.
