Great area. Nice shower house.
The trails are wide, wooded, and it is an easy walk downhill to the Cedar River, a cave, and rock climbing. The CG itself needs some work. Even with my leveling system I had to roll up on pads to one side. I walked the place...every site is tilted one way or another. There are water spigots throughout the park but they are the outdated kind and need to be replaced with frost-proof hydrants. The water was not going to be turned on until the first of May from my understanding. The dump lid was broken so I had to manually lift it (two pairs of gloves) and on top of that it was clogged so I barely jumped out of the way in time. Eek! No rangers to be found. This place has so much potential. Too bad.
Sign at entrance. Called ranger number and recording says for updates open in late May 2018
2018 there was renovation done to include more electric sites. Shower house was painted and camp sites were leveled. The sites are quiet and clean. Shower house is also clean and smells nice.
We booked our site online, two spots away from the bath house. The shower controls in the bath house were confusing so we didn't shower there. The park was peaceful, and we enjoyed a quiet evening with a small campfire. There is an abundance of wildlife, and they do not seem afraid of people. A raccoon came so close to my spouse, she thought it was a cat at first! We were glad we stayed there. A lot of trails to explore...maybe next time!
