We stayed 2 nights and would have stayed longer. Sadly, they charge 5$ per person per nite besides the camping fee!!! Beautiful place with miles of hiking and biking trails and lots of perfect picture locations.

This is our Go To spot when heading East-and-West through the panhandle. Probably the best kept secret in the national camping scene (although eveyone in TX knows, of course). Don't miss it when near Amarillo.

| Where You Should Spend a Long Weekend

We came just to stay overnight and hike the Lighthouse trail. A busy State Park so come early as it is first come first served. Cost is 24 dollars a night plus 5 per person. Some discounts apply. We stayed in #142 in Sagebrush with a 25 ft motor home. All was great and pretty level. Some coyote howls but overall quiet and a great view and stay. The entry worked well,on a Saturday noon arrival. As we left Sunday the lines were long. Very popular for camping and day hikes and yes tents as well. Some sites are less desirable and the Ranger will offer advice. Can be windy and wet at some spots. Enjoy!
