Reviews for Pere Marquette State Park

| Adequate, a little worn

Not a bad location near Grafton, IL with lots of activities along the Illinois River, tourist shops, trendy bars, etc. In the loop, there are fourteen 50 amp hookup sites but no pull through . Total of 80 sites. A few water spigots around. Most sites are 30 amp hookups yeah. Camping pads are gravel and pretty uneven, some are way too steep for your standard camper. A little grading with some gravel would help a lot. They have about 30 set aside for first come first serve and another 30 or so sites reservation only through Reserve America . Not a bad campground, but not really the greatest either. It kind of reflects the state that Illinois is in with deferred maintenance wherever you go. Very nice CCC built lodge nearby. Lots of up and down hiking trails are nice. Verizon cell coverage is non-existent in the campground. However, a short walk to the lodge and you have free Wi-Fi in the beautiful lobby.
