Friendly campground. Bathrooms busy in am (may want to use your own). Good hiking and biking but hilly.

The only campground in Twillingate--it's got a great location, with an easy walk to the cliffs for spectacular sunsets and a short drive into town. 30% or so of the sites are lovely, set in the woods--some randomly with sewer hookups, while the rest are on a main loop going up a hill. There are sections where the sites have been recently carved out of the hill with just gravel, no grass or planting--others that have obviously been there longer. Water and electric posts are located at the front of the (all back-in) sites so come prepared with enough electrical cable and hose-- we ended up going out into town to buy a length of hose so that we could back all the way into our very long site to give us some privacy. OK bathhouses and laundry which were busy as the campground was overfull at least one night when we were there. The caravan companies use this campground when in Twillingate so you might want to call and see if one is there and how full they are. There was a lot of work going on in the campground--additional baths going in, site grading etc....it should improve over the next couple of years. Location though!
