Reviews for Pioneer Village Campground

| Old and worn out

Poor maintenance. Dirty rest room and showers. Grass uncut. Sites not well defined. Definitely would not stay here except to see Pioneer Village which is well worth a visit. I guess when you are the only game in town you can be inferior.

| Maybe the worst... But....

The management has let this fall apart with little care. They say the plans are to reduce the bathhouse but at this date renovation is unscheduled. One shower semi clean with hotish water and toilets but dirty all around. Even simple things like mowing the grass are undone. But... Pioneer village is a national treasure and should not be missed. It too needs some TLC but the collection of artifacts is vast and interesting. Its founder loved this country and was awed by the human drive that took us from sod buts to the moon. Be sure to see the village, and be prepared to really rough it.

| Absolutely NOTHING wrong with this place

O.k., the place is off the beaten path but the museum is worth it. I got a water and electric site which included one admission to the museum for $30.00. You can't beat that. There's a dump station but they also have full hook up sites. The sites are shaded and grassy and there's plenty of privacy. You will need a couple of hours at the museum which is beyond description but I will say AMAZING. For all of you who need to use public restrooms and showers rather than your own RV, first of all WHY? You've got a bathroom. Use it. I mention this because the bathrooms at the camp are closed. About the property: This is not a for profit business. It is operated by a foundation that runs the museum, motel and Campground. Obviously these are volunteers and they could use some help. Frankly the State of Nebraska should come in and help out or the town. Anyway, you should come, stay in the RV park and see the museum.

Average campground but great for Pioneer village

| In a pinch you take what you can get

We were running late and needed to find a place to park our 40' Class A motorcoach. Not much around. This place is really old and not well maintained but we got full 50 amp service including water and sewer. Good WiFi, wide sites and level gravel pads and good TV reception. That is the good things. Bad is that a railroad track us about 500 feet away and comes by way too often. Would have been a deal at $20-$25 but at almost $42, that is way too much for what you get. But like I said, it's the only park in the area. Good news is they give you one free ticket to Pioneer Village right next foor which is worth $14.

| Campground was OK

Initially disappointed by the condition of the campground, but the museum made it an OK experience. Train crossing not to distant from the campground was the biggest negative, if you are a light sleeper, you might prefer going elsewhere. Pioneer Village is a bit run down but the collection is amazing. Wish we had more time to explore it. Campground fee seems high, but when you factor in the one free admission, it is OK. Sad to see the museum revenue can not maintain this place, it is a Monument to the history of America.
