This campground is basically a cement landing pad. Pool is right up on highway- away from all the rvs and beside a major roadway. And swings are only entertainment for kids. Its very hot and unshaded. There is always a long haired man who rides a golf cart around and makes you feel extremely uncomfortable that works there. He told us to slow down every night when we were going 8 mph in a 10 mph zone. We wont be back.
We were there last Thursday and Friday while visiting Charleston although in reading the other reviews it almost does not seem like the same place. The office staff, man and a woman were courteous and efficient. Did not see a crazy man on a golf cart but did see a nice woman worker who stopped to chat. Lots of dogs everywhere did not see anyone hassled. Four of us drank the water without complaint, I have certainly tasted worse in other campgrounds. The campground was clean with numerous garbage cans and even cans to empty grill ashes in, neat item. I was not crazy about the 90 degree pull thru site I had, would have much preferred one of the angled sites. We did not have any ant problem or hear of any. I can understand the need for some speed bumps, the main road in the campground is one long straight level road, very easy to build up too much speed. Is it a great destination campground,no, but for a few days of sightseeing in the area it is fine. I would stay there again.
This could be a nice rv park in the Charleston area, but the camp hosts/mgmt is probably the rudest of any I have met. Extremely, well, power hungry I guess. 3 of our families went to this park for a long weekend, and these camp hosts were really out of touch with customer service. Petty things like going 14 mph in 10 zone ( yes..they checked). The management apparently has a lousy reputation amongst RVers in Charleston also. They really are catering to the permanent residents here. We won't be back...go elsewhere for southern hospitality.
