Good location, poor management
By user-6211453... on 2017-10-23.
We stayed here in a MHZ towing. We had a hard time getting anyone on the phone to make a reservation, when we finally did we were told we were all set, no request for a credit card, which seemed strange. When we arrived there was no one in the office (which is deep into the park, not up front and easy to find), someone came by and showed us to our site. It was a pull through that barely fit our 40' MH. The pad was cracked concrete and the roads and area going onto the pads were a gravel that flooded when it rained. The picture of the pedestal shown above must have been taken many years ago, because the ones we saw were not in that condition, our water connection was loose, however they have a whole boat load of cable channels. The park is located feet away from the Mississippi and all of the industrial plants along it's banks, this also put it in the middle of about 6 plantations so in that respect it was great, the other things I mentioned above are what give it 2 stars.

Could not get a reservation
By user-4959576... on 2017-10-23.
Wifi is non existent goes in and out constantly and they don't exactly have "cable" it's a local tv antenna they hook up to. Management is all friendly and the concrete spots are nice.

Once you get past the communications issue, nice place
By user-5814915... on 2017-10-23.
Other reviews have mentioned the challenges of communicating with the owner and manager, but we were able to reach them using the # on the "office" trailer. The place itself is clean and shady with a small pool. Clean showers. We also got a free tour of the plantation house, very short on history but quite entertaining.

Would stay again!

I had no problems communicating with either Cindy or Tonya. They were both very helpful. Location is nice for the River Road plantations. We also drove into New Orleans (about 50 miles). Grounds were lovely, birds singing, very peaceful. Bathroom just ok, laundry good, pool unheated but nice.

Unusual place

This is an usual place. It is an old plantation that has tours on occasions but also has RV sites around the property.
We did make reservations. When we got there we didn't see any signs for office. I called the number that was posted and they gave me the cell phone for Cindy who came out and showed us the way. There was no map or paperwork but she gave us a 'newspaper' that was for Poche Plantation and their other local campground.
Our particular site was right next to the laundry and the plantation maintenance vehicle path so there was a lot of noisy diesel traffic there but the rest of the plantation was quieter. Site was a level concrete pad with a little grassy area with full hookups. They say they have satellite TV but we were unable to make it work. The laundry area was clean. They have a pool and hot tub but it was too cold to use them. The pool hadn’t been cleaned of leaves in a while but again, it was too cold to use. There are interesting statues all across the plantation.
There is very limited shopping nearby. It was about an hour drive to New Orleans. It’s right across the street from the levee on the Mississippi River and we really enjoyed walking along that and observing the activity at the shipping terminals from there. We stayed a week and were next to a couple who winter there every year. It would be fine for a night or two.
We stayed in Lot #38.

Nice and convenient

Stayed 2 nights to be close to plantations we wanted to visit. It was quiet. We had a pull through right in front of the main house with lots of grass. The only problem we had was that we couldn't pull through when we left as the tree branches would have scratched our 5th wheel on the sides and the top would have gotten damaged. Hubby backed out with no problems as there was nobody occupying the spot behind us.

Unique rv park.

As compared to boring run on the mill campgrounds. This one has class. Its built around the plantation and all it's out buildings the view is soothing from the front window
Feels like we are part of the plantation community. The check in was different. Required to call the MOD and give the CC to pay
The MNX man met us on entry and guided us to drive thru spot 38. Nice spot. OTA channels 21. Wifi great. Quite oh yes.

Quiet, comfortable, special, messy

We came after 5pm, so nobody was there to welcome us anymore. No problem, because we knew. Only problem is to find your site on such a huge area (seemingly 3 RV parks on 1 plantation)..or the reception. We had a nice pull-thru, full hook-up site. The pool and hot tub as well as the kitchen, library and billiards room were open 24/7, but night rest starts at 10pm. Those rooms as well as the restrooms aren't cleaned every day, as it seemed. Some areas of this plantation look run down and need renovations. In general, there is a historic touch to this entire place. Really a unique chance and we enjoyed it lot! You can pay cash (i.e. via envelope).
