The trails and beach at this state forest are great but if you LOVE ice cream..omg Cedar crest ice cream is here and when you read the menu you think it's a sundae..nope, cone and massive.

Stayed in a water:electric sight and was very happy with the size of the sights. Only drawback was mosquitoes from the many low spots that hold water long after the rains. Beach was nice but the water was too cold to get in.

Stayed almost 2 weeks here in late May/early June. Very laid back and peaceful on weekdays. Weekends were a little busier, but not crazy. Lots of trails for walking or biking. Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in winter. Near Two Rivers, a nice little town with basic amenities. Nice sites. Some are more private than others. Water in the showers was rusty. Beaches are nice for a stroll, but rocky in a lot of places. For swimming and sunbathing, it's probably best to head into town to Neshota beach when the water's warm enough.
