Reviews for Port of Newport RV Park

| Just great

By user-6065427... on 2017-10-23.

First and foremost, kudos to the camp host, Clay; great guy, super informative, and helpful. Good location and easy access; no problem getting to or into our pull thru with our 41' DP and attached trailer (59' total). Not a 5 star because wifi is spotty and slow and its tough to find a grassy area to walk dogs that doesn't have burrs. Would we stay here again? Absolutely. Came for one day, stayed three.

| Very nice RV park

Just over bridge from town, with lots of eating places! Large spots with nice bathrooms. Would definitely stay again!

Paved level site with shrubs between sites. Was a bit short for my 39 foot fifth wheel plus the truck. You’re at the Port of Newport so it was windy and cool with fog in the AM in July. They recycle all but glass. Near light houses, aquarium, shopping and of course the beach. Lots of bike and hiking trials nearby. You’ll also be greeted by the camp host, who was wonderful. I would definitely stay here again!

| Good Harbor RV Park

By user-5842298... on 2017-10-23.

Very helpful camp host. The park was more like a regular park than the typical parking lot found in a harbor facility. It must have been designed by a government committee because all the spaces were pointed away from the view. We were in the main facility not the annex. We stayed in a motorhome, wifi was adequate, didn't use the shower or laundry. Would stay here again.

| Great place for this first-time RVer.

We had a great view of the bridge, space 029, it was very clean and quiet RV park. We didn't know what to expect but it was excellent! Folks running the place were very friendly. WiFi wasn't that great, normally I knock places down one star in my reviews for this. But everything else was so good I left it at 5. They need to improve WiFi as more and more people are wanting this amenity to work well.

| Great park

Super clean facilities, fast Wi-Fi, and reasonable prices. Best of all book and pay online right from your site. Will be back.

| great over flow parking

we stayed in the overflow parking for only $18 a night. There are no hook ups but we did have wifi. close to harbour. Lots of space and quite.

Nice paved park. Very clean with helpful friendly staff. The city bus picks up from this location. We rented a car from Enterprise instead to drive up the coast to Oceanside then over to Tillamook. Ate lunch at the Blue Heron. Have never had better beef stroganoff. Wonderful trip!

First of all, when you read reviews of this RV park you need to realize that they have three separate areas for RV camping. There is a dry camping area (no hookups) that is just a big asphalt parking lot (next to a brewery/restaurant!), there is an unpaved but full hookup section (The Annex they call it) and the main RV park. Some web reviews complained about the quality of the dry camping facility but if you pay for dry camping you can’t expect a 5 star facility… I’m just sayin’! We stayed in the main RV park and found this place to be squeaky clean and well organized. Bathrooms: Sparkling clean. Laundry room: As clean and modern as any place we have stayed. Staff: Friendly and helpful. Driveways and sites: Level, clean, large landscaped sites. The only negative we would point out is that their Wi-Fi/internet stinks. There is a good strong signal and it does work but the connection needs to be described as slow and intermittent. They need to pay for some additional bandwidth because the park has a lot of users. Other than the internet this is a wonderful place to stay for awhile. It is next to the port so there are water views, boats, lighthouses and a foghorn that sounds off during the night. It is all very pleasing to the romantic senses! Newport is a wonderful town to explore. It is a typical “beach” town in many ways and there is a working waterfront that has a mixture of tourist shops, restaurants, entertainment, fishing boats and seafood packing plants. We have paid much more to stay at a certain “chain” campground and felt like there was much more value here. We are told this place fills up during the summer and it would be no surprise. 4.5 stars for the poor Wi-Fi but the office people said they are working on that! You will enjoy this place… we will be back! Oh yes, the facility is well laid out for wheelchair users!

| Stay clear, falls under HUD.

Please check their website and see rules (PDF file) 6 pages of charges you won't be able to get out of. This place is ran by the city.

| Good park but....

By user-5782200... on 2019-08-09.

We've been coming here for years. The area is awesome. The park is comfortable and facilities are clean. We do have our favorite sites but good luck getting them. They have regulars that reserve the prime spaces for months at a time even though they're not staying in them. They come back on weekends to fish. So basically the best view sites are unavailable unless you come in the winter months. Also, the grounds are in need of work. Bushes need trimmed, some sites need pressure washed, weeds at least need mowed. Overall, a nice park. But lacking maintenance. They also have fees for everything and are very inflexable. If you decide to have a package delivered to this location be aware the first one is free. After that they charge a $5 handling fee.

| Good Park

By user-5610873... on 2019-08-09. Stayed 2018-08-11 to 2018-08-18

Pros: paved, full hookup, 50amp, big rig friendly, no satellite dish obstructions, lots of trails, dog friendly, good location, quiet Cons:. Could be cleaner (not bad but could be better), a bit tight, sometimes some fish smell due to the marina near, it's the NW thus cool and sometimes foggy

| Really Nice Park

By user-unknown on 2019-08-09. Stayed 2018-11-06 to 2018-11-07

Paved sites with grass planted all around in a great setting at Yaquina Bay; the Port of Newport Harbor. Great staff, must be a fun place in the Summer. A little spendy or I would have given this place 5 stars.

| Super RV Park

We stayed here for a night and were impressed. It is very clean, comfortable, all paved and level spots with hookups, and a very sweet camp host named Clay. No ocean view but nice marine harbor atmosphere.

| Nice Park

Internet was not great and they did an upgrade on their cable so it was down for 24 hrs. The park was very clean. Laundry room clean as clean staff clean as very nice especially Clay. Since we had never been to Newport, he gave us a detailed overview of the area with brochures.

| OK, for a pavement park.

Crowded when we were there near the 4th of July. Some interesting places to walk nearby -- make sure you go out on the dock to the west almost under the bridge. Go at night (very cool). It goes almost half way across the bay. Other than that, not much around as far as within walking distance; all the good restaurants and stuff are on the other side of the bay. Overall a decent park, just not my style. Not a park where you sit outside your RV and enjoy the area.
