Fantastic Army Corps of Engineers park. Very clean. Large sites. Quiet. But then all Army Corps are like that.

| Nice lakeside campground.

This is a nice campground right on the shores of Canyon Lake. All sites are large, level, and include a covered picnic table; fire ring for ground fires; closeable standing grill; 40-60 foot long parking pads; 20, 30 and 50 amp electrical service; water hook-ups and a nice view! Some sites are shaded and have a view of the lake in the distance, while others are not shaded, but are right on the lake shore. There are no hiking trails, but you can swim, fish, boat, and relax.

| Lots of space, beautiful views

This park is wide open, with large pads as well as adjoining parking for your truck. Each site has a covered picnic area, grill, and fire ring. No laundry. Very nice people, our spot was right on the water.

| Great place lousy office personal

The non-ranger personnel is so uptight about rules... no one was there and things were quite and because we did not want to walk in rain to rr and drove our rv down and vacated the site. Personnel looked through window and checked us out early. Thus messing up our reservation.

Lovely park, we felt that because it was Spring break in Texas that sights could be in short supply. We paid for a lake front site but quickly realized folks were waiting through our site and this happened all afternoon. At the entrance sign said no day use but obviously a lot of these folks are visiting registered customers.

One of the best COE camps we have stayed at. Level spacious sites, shade, great view of the lake, room for big and small units too. Good Version Wonderful staff with clean and neat grounds. Bathroom have dial showers, hot water, and very clean.

The site we stayed in was near the water, had no trees and was quite large. There was plenty of room between spaces. Each site had a large sheltered table, fire ring and BBQ grill. The sites are paved and have enough space for your rig and another vehicle.

Been going to this place for many years. Always been a first come first serve campground - no reservations taken. Went all the way out there with some friends and was told the only way into the park was with a previously made online only reservation. At the check in booth we were told they knew nothing about the campground, how many spots available, etc. We were told to go somewhere and make an online reservation to see if there was an availability then come back but we would not be admitted until 3 pm regardless if there were 1 spot or 60. We were there at noon. We were supposed to wait 3 hours in the parking lot to be admitted to an empty camp spot. They enforced this strictly and weren't very pleasant about it. We were very disheartened to see this place turn into this. We were also concerned that if the people in the check in building knew absolutely nothing about the campground - who is watching the place? Went to another park. Too bad. Only reason we gave it 2 stars instead of one is that it is a nice spot on the lake - if you can get in. No other amenities. They do have showers and bathroom at no extra charge. But no wi-fi, camp store, and spotty cell service. Hard to make a reservation.

We love it because it s so close to the water and has a small beach type access for kids to play as well as a boat ramp and extra clean restrooms!
