This fifty some odd acre park is perfect for families and seniors. The beach is a natural pedestrian beach bordered on one side by a fishing pier and on the other by a rock jetty. There is a WWII Howitzer gun on a mound with trails going up. Two 1800s houses and a series of boardwalks to the beach, house the office. There are nature and history displays in the office. The RV sites are a mixture of pull through or back in with full utilities. The sites are flat and in a grassy/asphalt road area NOT directly on the beach. There is NO tent camping here. Right now it is covered in wild flowers (March). I will be back!
Did a shake down run in our new trailer here. I bit away from the busier places in Galveston. Decent space between pads. Not any shade to speak of, but the breeze off the water keeps it from getting too hot. There are mosquitoes of course, bring bug spray. The beach is a short 5 minute walk away. The beach itself is "natural", which means they don't rake the seaweed, unless it gets really bad. One direction is the dunes, the other direction is oil plants. We made sure we were facing the good scenery. Pretty quiet park overall. Enjoyed out stay. It is well away from any other activities, stores and restaurants though.
This is a quiet place to relax.
When camping would campers start posting picture of campground map so fellow campers can see area. Thank you! Fellow camper
Here for the weekend. Loved the beach and the price 22.00 full hookups. The ships go through the channel which is cool to watch. Laundry and hot showers a plus. Pull through sites also.
Quiet location with refineries nearby. Called ahead payed for one night but added two more. County run shell and rock museum and aquarium and nature center are close by and free. Bring mosquito spray if the temp is above 80. Would definitely return here
