This is our hometown and we swing through here to visit family and friends. Randy is a great host and was at the entrance helping us park as soon as we pull in!!! Beautiful park with a pond for fishing and a river view :) we love staying here and feel really at home!
We needed a camp site in late March we chose R campground because it was the only place that was open. Turned out to be great. Level campsite full hook up & a view of the river. Enjoyed our 1 day in Charles City.
Right on the river, rents canoes and kayaks, level sites. We stopped for an overnight it was quiet and clean
We've stayed here twice while visiting friends in Charles City and will again next time we're passing through. It's clean, in a great location, and a very pretty setting down by the river. There is a convenience store and laundromat (which we din't ever check out) at the entrance.
We were in a pull through site, but the person behind us was in the same pull thru site. It was an acceptable place to stay for a few days and see the area. The staff was accommodating and helpful. We stayed in a 31' Class C towing a car.
Nice site with good views and water nearby. Only fault was the lack of aggressive dog poop cleanup by the park staff. Had to be careful where you walked. If they can fix this it is a 5 star location.
Me and my husband are traveling across country from California and we stopped at the R campground. The staff was ex streamly helpful and nice. I highly recommend this park.
