Reviews for Raleigh Oaks RV Resort

| Easy to find!

By user-5780838... on 2017-10-23. Stayed 2016-02-05 to 2016-02-06

This place was easy to find on our way to FL. It is very clean and well kept. The people that run the park are very friendly and accommodating. There is a play ground and my two little boys really enjoyed it. You can hear the highway and the train but it didn't bother us. Also the Internet is VERY slow. They have complementary showers and waffles and coffee. Will stay here again.

| Nice campsite

Large open campsites, all gravel, with very little shade available. Large clean laundry room but it was hard to tell if it was hotter outside or inside the laundry, almost dangerously hot. Could have been HVAC problems but the staff did not seem concerned about it. Could have gone to the Rally Room next door but that does not help when you have clothes to fold or transfer from washer to dryer. Other than the laundry issue it was a REALLY nice campsite.

We're staying for the month of April, so we've only been here for three weeks so far, and it's definitely a place that we'll stay for longer. Staff is nice, as well as responsive. I mentioned one morning that the grass was getting high in the front dog park and they had someone there mowing within the hour. The grass grows quickly here, and they do an excellent job of keeping on top of it (they've mowed four times in three weeks). When we first arrived, the trash dumpsters were full which turned me off, but they added another dumpster for a rally that came in that weekend, and since then, there have been no issues. Laundry room is pretty large, although the dryers can get pretty pricey (50 cents for 15 minutes). Pool and spa are really nice, other pool is opening for the season later. Miniature golf, playgrounds, pickle ball and three dog parks - makes it worth the price. We're paying $525 for a deluxe pull through for a month (plus electric). You can still hear interstate noise, but it's not a nuisance. Convenient to everything you need or want *unless Target is high on your list*. There's a flea market just down the road, and Rosy's produce market there is amazing! Holt Lake Seafood is a must try as well. and to top it off....waffles and coffee Wednesday through Sunday - yeah, they did that too!

| Passing through to Emerald Isle

We were lucky to get the last available pull-through at this campground. The office was very friendly, kind of like being around family that you like being around. We were escorted to our site and were told to use a pressure regulator since the water supply was around 80 psig. The utilities work just fine but our coax cable was way too short to reach their cable box. The site was graveled and almost level. The shower facilities were clean and were set up as individual bathrooms to make it convenient and secure for the campers. I only gave it a 3-star rating because we are just passing through and haven't been able to check everything out but it certainly is well on its way to my giving it a 5-star.

This is a very nice campground. We had a little trouble leveling, but not too much. All of the sites are large and gravel. There's a nice table and firepit on the grass between your site and the one next to you. The pool is unheated and it was cold so we didn't go swimming, but it felt good to relax in the hot tub. There's miniature golf and a tennis/badminton court. The fenced in dog park is large enough for any size dog to run around and have fun. Wednesday through Sunday there are free waffles, coffee and juice at the "White House". The bathrooms are large and private. The laundry (wash $2, dry 50ยข for 15 minutes) is large enough, but there are no chairs in there, so I went to the "Rally Room" while my clothes were going. The Rally Room has comfortable chairs along one wall and tables and chairs in the middle. There are jigsaw puzzles in there, or you can sit back with a good book until your laundry is done. There are also a billiards room and a fitness room. The staff keeps all of them clean. The company that owns this resort also owns eight others. We enjoyed our stay here so much that we'll look for the others while we travel around the country.

RLeigh Oaks is our favorite stop over campsite when we travel in NC. The sites are gravel and level, facilities are extremely clean, friendly staff and it has great amenities. Fuel is just down the road. We love to stop here and decompress after a long day on the road. If I could, I'd give it 6 stars. We stay here in a 40' 5th wheel.

| Rebuilt rv park off I95

By user-5201994... on 2017-10-23.

This place was reopened in October. The new owners have done a great job. It is very welcome because this stretch of I 95 doesn't have many other places to stop. First it is very close to I 95 and very easy to find. But not close enough to hear any noise. The sites are level, large and well laid out. Most are pull thru. But the back ins are well laid out and easy to access There are two pools, miniature golf, pickle ball, and other amenities usually found in larger resorts. It is 10 minutes or so to Walmart and all the usual places you would want. We are in a 37' fifth wheel and will stay for a month. If you stay for a night or for weeks I think you will be happy.

Great R v park complementary waffles, juice & coffee 2 pools, hot tub, playground, tennis court mini golf, great back porch screened to eat breakfast on or just to sit & look at the wonderful pool area & relax. Easy to I-95 off & on. The only drawback I had was the a/c in the laundry room did not work right too hot. But the wonderful showers made up. We came for 1 night & stayed for 4 in July on our 3 month trip to the Great Canyon & Yellowstone. We stay again.

Traveling through the area and spent one night at this resort. The campground is easy off and on to I-95. The office staff was wonderful. I'm sorry I didn't make note of her name, she was extremely helpful and very pleasant. She gave us a lot of information about the park. We didn't know about the military discount when we booked our reservation online, and when I asked about it at check-in she gladly gave us a refund of the discount. We were escorted to our campsite by a young man who was very friendly. Our campsite was a pull-thru which was very level, we didn't have to do anything (Site 208). The campsites are pretty tight. It is more like a parking lot, but since we were only there less than 24-hours it wasn't an issue for us. The bathhouse was very clean and up-to-date. I wouldn't recommend this park as a destination park as the sites are very close together, no shade and no privacy at all. The park has lots of street lights which required us to hang a towel on our bedroom window to block the light at night. Although the park has lots of lights, there was no lighting at the dumpsters or the dog park. At the dog park (there are 3) there is a sign stating $100 fine for not cleaning up after your pet. They must not enforce this rule very much because the dog park was littered with dog waste. There are a lot of long term campers at this park, but overall the park appeared to be clean and well kept. We would stay here again when in the area, but only for 1-2 nights.

| No longer a KOA and that's a good thing

By user-5729521... on 2019-08-09. Stayed 2018-07-10 to 2018-07-12

Don't be fooled by the some of the pictures: this is no longer a KOA. For us that is a definite improvement! Lots of level pull thrus. Friendly staff and very nice laundry room. Easy pull up for LP fill.

| Nice park just of I-95 that is not KOA..

By user-5580089... on 2019-08-09.

date of stay november 2018 early month. Located off I-95 it's far enough away to not get a lot of traffic noise. We were located in site 304 which is near front and close to another high traffic road and again little to noise. Nice pool area, hot tub, new looking shower rooms, Pickleball courts, nice 9 hole putt putt course (it should be a par 3 on some holes. LOL) gravel driveways and spots mostly level, very high water pressure and advised to use pressure regulator on hose bib. All hookup conventaily located and close to each other to include local cable and OTA was good with lots of local TV stations as well. Elec has 50, 30 20 amp plugs and nice light on top to help see.. (elec meter has number dial so you can see how much power KWH, you use during camping.. good way to track usage ) staff in office very friendly and helpful. club house/ meeting room was real nice and very new it appeared. We used it during our Airstream unit 161 club meeting during the weekend in nov. We paid lower rate due to amount of units attending $45 per night. A little bit pricey for me at $50 to $55 a night.. weekly is better as is the monthly rate with metered elec at .14 KWH.. If you are traveling with kids might be a good early stop place to enjoy pools and putt putt course onsite. they also sell LP but not sure cost as we did not inquire or need. almost forgot to add.. On sat and sunday morning the service waffles in the club house next to laundry area. A guy will cook it for you to perfection. They provide plates, OJ, syrup and forks etc. This is a real nice plus.. :)

| Clean and Well Run But

By user-5673196... on 2019-08-09.

This is a great place to rest for a couple of days while on the road. The sites are very sterile gravel area for you rig and vehicle and a small well trimmed lawn area. There are fenced dog run areas which are appreciated as it is not appealing for walking you dog. It is quiet and in a rural area with little to see or do.

Easy off and on I-95 for big rig towing car. Highway signs can be confusing. Beautiful well-kept grounds with lots of amenities. Family friendly park but for overnighters and seniors that don't use the amenities wish they would offer discount. We find that everywhere. Large pull-thru sites. Very nice laundry facilities but no place to sit inside. Would stay again if we are in the area.
