Little to no shade. Little to no grass/trees. Nice facilities otherwise. A little pricey.
Very nice camp ground and very friendly staff. Easy to get to and close to all attractions.
Most of the RV parks near Rushmore are closed for the winter season and Holiday and Lazy are over-priced and ugly (IMO). This KOA has an entire section (#120 - 135) open for the winter with FU for $25 a night. The laundry/showers are closed for the season but I am self-contained, so that does not matter to me. The views are great and there is plenty of space to play / walk the dogs. Lots of grassy areas and very well maintained. The place looks great! There is a C-store at the bottom of the hill. Although I am not usually a KOA fan, I would definitely return to this location during the off-season when the kids are in school. Lol
With easy access from I-90, this KOA is in Rapid City, the gateway community to the Black Hills. Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial, Custer State Park and Deadwood are within an hour's drive. Campers enjoy the convenience of heading into the Black Hills to see the sights while staying here as their destination or as a stop on the way to Yellowstone National Park. Relax in a Camping Cabin or a big-rig pull thru site. Enjoy amenities and activities such as s'mores parties and watermelon feeds (in season). Fill up on all-you-can-eat pancakes before heading to the hills to bike, hike or sightsee. at KOA, sign up for a guided tour or rent a car for your own exploration. You're close to five national parks! Have fun in the large heated pool and hot tub. Two playgrounds and a giant checkers/chess set provide plenty of family entertainment. Fido will love the Kamp K9 dog park. Free Wi-Fi.
