Reviews for Rapid City RV Park & Campground

| Nice views

The new owners are very nice and helpful. They have an uphill battle though(no pun intended)to get this park back in shape from the previous owners lack of maintenance. Very nice views, quiet and the wifi worked well (workers were here working on repairing it from a lightning strike). We were on the lowest level and had no problem hooking up to the internet. The facilities need lots more work, but they are trying. I have read other reviews that the sights are hard to get in and out of. We have a 40 ft coach with a toad and had no problem. The previous sewer problem other reviews I read talked about appears to be repaired. We had a major rainstorm while here and there were no sewer problems. We would stay again if in area.

| Bad experience with Owner

By user-5663449... on 2017-10-23.

The park is nice, the maintenance man helped me back my 38 foot trailer and helped me set it up. But I ran into the owner on my way out from the bathroom and he accused me of making a mess. I had just come out of a stall and you could clearly see the stall was clean. He was obviously mad and looked like he needed sleep. I tried to talk to him about this issue but there was no getting through. Even after I left he came out of the building and told me something incohent. I want to say this is a good place to stay but if the owner sees me as someone of suspect for just being in the bathroom who knows what else they will accuse you off. I hope this was just a case of 4th of July frustrations. For not being respectful to your customers this place is not worth your time. Also the name of this park has changed to Rapid City RV.

| Wonderful campground with lots of potential!

By user-5228388... on 2017-10-23.

You can easily go to the campground without entering town but a 5 minutes drive will get you downtown! Superb views! We have a 45' motorhome and we reached our drive-through site easily. The camping is dated but the new management tries very hard to bring this campground to its former glory. Rapid city is a wonderful city. Restaurants, shopping and close to the different tourist attractions. Bit of advice, go drive the "Dark Canyon road", a hidden jewel 8 miles from the campground

| A Work in Progress

By user-5795539... on 2017-10-23.

The owners are putting a lot of work into the place, which is unusual. Most RV parks we have visited in our 6 month journey, take the money and do not re-invest into improvements. The sites are are tight but for the most part, level. Someone always escorts you to your site and helps guide you in. This is really a plus. The WiFi is iffy at times, but you can get a signal throughout the entire park. Rapid City is a nice friendly city to visit. This park is at the top of a hill that overlooks the surrounding city. We built a nice fire during the cool nights. I recommend this place. We spent a week. If we are in the area again, I will make sure to stay here again.

| Good Experience

Restroom and shower area was clean and spacious. Friendly owners and hosts. The owners are working hard to improve their park. Spaces are tight and roads are rough (like other reviewers have said) but the views make up for that! Convenient to all shopping, plus Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer Park, and Devils Tower. We enjoyed our stay.

| A little dated but good location

This is an older park, on a hill, interior roads are tight and bumpy, sites are mostly level. Good power, water and WiFi. A little pricy for what you get, but convenient to town and the tourist attractions. Sites are close together but not too bad. Be careful entering or exiting the park, the highway is 50MPH a s very little in the way of entry and exit ramps.

It is a OK park, owner helped me get into a good spot, great view and convenient to Mount Rushmore , Custer state park, Crazy Horse monument. 50 amp and WiFi worked well. Would stay there again. But pricey.

| Rude Management

By user-5087701... on 2019-08-09.

We made reservations, later found out the sites had no grass, asked to move south campground. But was told they were Jack & Jill sites. If they put anyone on the site next to us, we would have to roll in our awnings. We are told by owners wife that if we were going to have a problem with their campground, she would prefer us to move on. We did. Now when our mail came into their campsite, they returned mail because of earlier conversation. Owner hung up on us multiple times. There is no way I would ever do business here

| Not worth the price

I understand they are going through improvements but it has a long way to go. Tight gravel spots. Had to go by the dumpster for grass so my pooch could go potty. It talks about the views but the only views we had were the neighbors, the dumpster and the highway. No room to sit outdoors unless we sat under our slide. The water there made my non dairy creamer curdle in my coffee. We have a serious water system under our sink and it still happened. I dont know what was in the water but it never happened before and it hasn't happened since. I wouldn't go back and especially not for over $50 a night.
