| very good provincial park

By user-5855241... on 2017-10-23.

I'm amazed I'm doing the first review on Rathtrevor Provincial Park. It is probably the best provincial campground on Vancouver Island. On a nice sandy beach, lots of sites for various sized rigs. Nice bath house. A kilometer or two from the Town of Parksville, Qualicum, Coombs. No power or water hookups like any provincial park this is a great site. Be sure to reserve on-line well in advance because it books up quick.

This is probably one of the nicest Provincial Parks on Vancouver Island. The beach is beautiful. Dogs are not allowed on the sandy beach in the picnic areas, however they are allowed on the rocky north beach. There are several new large RV rig sites near the picnic areas on the east side of the park. These are located just before the day use area, before you reach the park office. The new RV campsite areas are not well identified as you enter the park. Check the map on the park website. The new RV sites are easy to get in and out of, though not as nice or as private as the older campsites in the forest. We chose the new RV sites to avoid trees since we wanted to try out our new solar equipment. We will be back.
