Loved Silverton area, but rough and unfriendly owner. Lots are gravel and uneven, muddy in the frequent rain. Owner was not responsive to requests for moving lots, even though many were available. Seems many campers choose to relocate to Silver Summit next door. Facilities were ok, but limited. Wont accommodate arrivals after sunset even though website doesn't state this policy. Beware.
Nice campground up in the mountains. We stayed in a 40' fifth wheel. The sites were close together. All of the workers were helpful and nice. The showers were nice and clean. The Silverton Durango train went by a few times a day. It was fun watching the old coal train. Like going back in time.
After a rainy day we arrived the campground! At night we had only 2° C but on the next morning we saw a beautiful scenery with a blue sky and a overwhelming surrounding! The reception was very friendly, the facilities were very nice and clean! Would always come again!
