Reviews for Rest-a-While RV Park

| Horrible experience

After reading the rules we went to the community fire pit and started a small fire in the fire ring. Some local called the fire department, they showed up and asked what the issue was, that fire is perfectly legal, no problem. The owner came by and just turned the hose on the small fire we were roasting hotdogs and marshmallows on. When we tried talking to him he was incredibly rude and refused to talk to us. I would highly recommend passing this place by. I have never had a more horrible experience at ANY place on the Hood Canal camping. The place is run down and other than the view a completely bad experience.

Beautiful location with level big rig spots right on the hood canal. We were there for 2 mos with our 40 foot rv. The views are amazing. You can go crabbing and oystering right in front of your rv. The staff is super nice and accomodating. There is plenty to do with the national parks, the hood canal, a couple casinos and lake cushman a few minutes drive away. They are pet friendly and we will definitely be back.

| Old and run down

Don't let the pictures fool you this place needs a lot of TLC. The sites facing the water are real close together with a lot of road noise the sites across the road are grass and NOT level. We have stayed there 3 times don't think we will be back. The owners need to spend some time and money on elec. and update the the whole place.

We appreciate Rest-a-While's location right on the Hood Canal - America's only fjord! The sites in the beautiful trees are spacious. The managers, Elizabeth and Rio, have bent over backwards to ensure our stay here is pleasant. We have a roomy site with concrete patio and our own firepit. Fellow RVers are friendly. Hoodsport is conveniently only 3 miles away for groceries, lattes, pub dinner, burgers, and wine and spirit tasting. Lake Cushman is a short drive. My husband said it's like being in a National Park.

This is a decent spot for $50 if you don t have kids (no where for them to play). Perfect for clamming and getting oysters, right at your doorstep. We re crammed in here right off hwy 101 and looked like a few full timers mixed in with some big barking dogs. It s quiet at night though, thank goodness. There s tent camping across the street but there s even more full timers over there. Can not beat the view and the smell of the sound. No fire ring.
