Reviews for River's End Campground & RV Park

| Waaaaay too crowded!

By user-5317276... on 2018-07-05.

I really don't understand the 5 star reviews that are posted here. It is literally the most cramped in campground I have ever stayed. You are packed in like sardines. It does not feel like camping, it is just a place to sleep so you can enjoy all that Tybee Island has to offer. The people next to us had to put their table almost touching our camper just to be able to set out 4 chairs. Fortunately we do not have slide outs. We arrived on a Sunday and MANY kids were riding through the campground screaming, and yelling for hours. I did see a mom walking around with a wine glass in her hand yelling for her kids. I love kids but this was more than playing. It was so intrusive that staff should have taken control of the situation but did not. The next couple of days were much quieter, however. Staff is very friendly and it is very clean. It is the only campground on the island so there are no other options and is very over priced. We had full hook up and spotty wifi for $78 a night. We did move to a "premium site" that was not quite as crowded in but still very close for $89 a night.

| What else can be said that the others haven't. Great campground.

Not a huge park but lots of upside. Two nice restroom/shower facilities each with multiple private rooms. Very nice pool that is gated. Wi fi worked great. Little store in office for camper supplies, snacks or souvenirs. Ocean Beach is 3 blocks one way while savannah river inlet beach is 2 blocks another way. Seen dolphins every time at the inlet beach. We will be back!

We're back! Was here in 2014 and thought the camp ground was wonderful, they have made it better. The new tent camping area is really nice, recently re-paved the roads and they have improved the vending. Oh and Tybee is still awesome too!

We would most definitely stay here over and over again. The ground is clean, friendly and feels safe. The beach is awesome and in walking or bike riding distance. We actually ran into an issue while packing up, had to run out and ran 3 hours past checkout. But we informed the staff and they worked with us no hassle at all and werenot charged any extra fees. I would recommend this site to everyone. It is reasonably priced and WELL WORTH IT. Just stock up on bug spray the gnats are wild.

we arrived to the very friendly staff. It was easy to maneuver the park. The park is controlled constantly by golf cart and staff. The police station is next-door. There is also a small and a large dog park next-door. And it is three blocks from the beach. An easy walk down a side street. office store ws well stocked. small IGA about 2 miles away. bike trails everywhere. gravel slots. we stayed in the perimeter which had some pool three slots. There are picnic tables and a fire ring at each location.

| The best for where it is.

We stayed for two nights and had not a single issue. They are still drilling behind the campsites in other reviews, but we never heard a sound from it. The campground is a little tight and appears packed on weekends, but very nice during the week. The camp store was staffed with great people from our experience. They do deliver firewood and ice to your site. Cable was good and wifi for us was very good. The only real negative was the local beach doesn't allow pets and as a typical beach town they don't have sidewalks for walking them either. Nice lighthouse and battery within 3 blocks.

| Way over priced

Being the only campground on the island , I guess they can charge what they want...the campground map shows a wooded area, so we assumed we would have woods behind us. Instead we have a dog park up against our site. The fence is in rough shape with big gaps. The dogs in the park stick their nose/ head though and our dog goes crazy- we can’t let him out. It’s $80 a night but it’s more like a $30-$40 campground. There is also a permanent type residence beside us, that doesn’t show up on the campground map. I agree with others it’s pretty close to one another- the map is decieving. Lot 117

We just stayed there for five nights and loved it. It was our first time on Tybee Island and we loved it! We've already booked two weeks next year. The staff was helpful and friendly and the bathhouses very clean. The campground is conveniently located and offers lots of shaded sites.

Nice grounds. Friendly staff. Decent bathrooms. Some sites seem right on top of each other but our site had breathing room. Our disappointment was that there is no parking around the island that you don t have to pay for. If you have a scooter, like we do, it is not practical to pay for parking when we have no place to securely place our parking pay stub without worrying that someone will rip it off to use for themselves. Even after Labor Day weekend, when the island is pretty quiet, the parking police are vigilant. No problem, however, if you are riding bicycles.

Beautiful, spacious, gravel lots and paved roads.fire pits and picnic tables. bath house. Nice pool. Dog walk/park. Felt very safe. Friendly staff frequently patrolled the area, as well escorted me to my site... I Was expecting to be right on or walking distance to the beach for the price paid, but Over all, it was a nice stay.
