Reviews for River Walk RV Park

We have been RV’ing for over 25 years and this place is our worst yet. Don’t be fooled by the name “River Walk RV Park”, it is nowhere close to San Antonio River Walk and nowhere near as nice as advertised! I talked to a person in the office about not having room to put my awning out because the site next to me was actually where my patio should have been. The RV on my awning/patio side was literally 5 feet away. She said they didn’t have another satellite friendly site available, but there were several empty. They couldn’t care less about customer service. I spoke with a gentleman working on some new electrical hookup posts and found out they are in the process of doubling the number of sites by cutting the existing sites in half. The Wifi is not usable most of the time, and when it works, it is slow, slow, slow. Be aware that they don’t give refunds and they require a non-refundable deposit, so it you want out, you are still going to be charged. Once they get your money, they couldn’t care less about your comfort.

This is no longer Dixie. It changed owners and names in January 2015. It is now River Walk RV Park. Also the map location on this app is wrong. Put 1011 Gembler in your GPS and it will get you there. The one on here will take you into a residential area with narrow roads, not RV friendly.

It's a big park. Very good on security has a coded gate. We got there at 1am and the night shift person open the gate for us.. some sites are very close to each other..the Wi-Fi sucks.. river walk about 15-20min away.. But over all if your staying for a night or two it's a good place. At least for us.

Dixie is a nice, quite park with friendly and helpful staff. Clean laundry room, restrooms/showers, and pool. Lots of shaded lots with concrete pads, (some with picnic tables). Easy access to downtown driving or by bus (bus stop right out front of park goes straight to downtown). Pet friendly with dog walk and rates are reasonable as well.

In an industrial area with several residents in old units. Laundry was good, RR pretty old. Not good for big rigs; narrow streets & tight turns. Wi-fi was ok. 4 nights with no problems.

We go south every year for the winter. Perfect location for our stay in San Antonio this year. Nice lots and great access to highways to see the sights. We will be back!

Lots of people living there, think we were the only ones staying for just a night. No security, no gate, people drunk and fighting physically next to us, bathroom no toilet paper, slippery floors with showers & no vent. Wouldn't go unless it was the last place available.

The interior roads are very tight and hard to maneuver. The sites are large but the area is not the nicest. Lots and lots of road noise and right behind our site was able to leave a truck yard and it was noisy as well. The people at the desk or super super nice and super super helpful. Bus service by the entrance was very handy. The bus ride into the Riverwalk in the Alamo was about 35 40 minutes. No cable. I probably wouldn't choose this park again. We moved to the KOA after 3 days and it was like night and day. Stayed three days the end of October 2017.

Not geared for big rigs. Okay place to stop for a night if you have a travel trailer or small drive-able unit. If you are going to be gone most of the day then it could work. Grass and shady spots are for long term renters. This is not a destination vacation spot.

We are so happy that we found this park . It's our first time here . Love it. Love the upgrades that you are doing here. Your staff was very helpful on how to get here , and very friendly. We are staying 4 weeks. We will come back, and will recommend this camp ground. Thank you for helping us out.

Want to add we have a 39.9 foot pull behind Camper , and a large pick up , with a 8 ft need . We found it easy to move around in and sites are very nice. We are in a pull Thur , couple of turns are a little tight , but if you are carefull and pay attention, you will do just fine . Lots of big camper and big motor homes are in here . We all fit just fine.

We were welcomed by Fred who sat me down for 15min have me the run down on where bus stops are, how to get to the Alamo, places to see, free attractions and visitors centres. That really sweet the scene for us! All the staff were nice and had a good laugh when chatted with them. Fred even came by on the morning we were leaving to make sure everything was good. We used the laundry and there were enough that we didn't have to wait on other ppl to finish. Overall we give these guys a 4.5 stars because it is a bit pricey but super impressed with our reception!

Small sites, little grass, fewer trees. New construction seems to be eliminating even more grass. If you want a concrete lot with hookups, this one is for you. Dog park is hardly worth the effort.

Friendly helpful staff. Clean level concrete pad sites. Close to most major attractions. Bus stop right outside the entrance.
