Very Nice park with friendly staff. We stayed in site 50 and loved it. Because of how it was situated, it felt like we were by ourselves even though the park was full.

Pretty park. Not a lot of good sites for bigger rigs....too open and close together. More shaded, private spots are smaller, built before bigger RVs. Check scheduling for azalea, art, gospel and bluegrass events.

Felt this was just a beautiful place to get away ! Wifi was on sometime , other time it did not work , so what ! With the sound of the river nothing mattered ! Very clean friendly employees just a wonderful wknd visit . If you don't mind hauling up the mountain it is worth it .

We stayed here this week. We stayed in the middle loop...No WIFI, NO TV, NOT EVEN A RADIO signal. It was a great place to recharge but I found myself having Social Media withdrawals! lol... The places are very small and very close together is my only gripe. The lower loop is really crowded and lots of kids riding bikes. Bath houses are ok..great water pressure just not very up to date.

We love to stay in state parks whenever possible and this one is a new favorite! The river runs right behind the campsites. Nice big pool area. Bath house looks great. There is no cell service here but the wifi in the park worked pretty well. I could just sit here by the river all day long - so peaceful and serene. It's only 10 miles up the mountain to the beautiful sunsets and rhododendrons.

I have not stayed here yet but I visited it today. The campground have been renovated very recently - with new asphalt streets and parking pad. The RV section has parking pads with attached patio area and WI-FI. 50/30 AMP and water at sites - sewer dump station and clean bath houses with privacy doors.Very shady sites as most state parks are. I would have given it 5 starts if the sites were Thu. I am looking forward to staying here in the future.

Beautiful state park campground. Great bathhouse, very warm as it got down in the 20’s. Will look forward to going back in the spring/summer. Best to call for directions, can be tricky using a GPS. Very little cell service, they do have WiFi. Be sure and make reservations.
