Reviews for Roaring River State Park

| Fun first trip!

Maiden voyage in our new travel trailer was memorable. Trout fishing was fun. Had to pay extra for the pool. Bummer! Would prefer a full hook-up but other than that it was awesome. Add a full hookup and free pool for paying campers and I would give 5 stars.

This is a great place if you like fishing! Camp along the river. Big sites. We got a basic site with no hookups but they do have full hook up sites. Laundry is only .75 a load. There is a fish hatchery. You can get a fishing license right at the store. Verizon cell service was ok. They do keep some first come serve sites available.

Unorganized and chaotic. Stayed in campground 2, but had to check in through campground 1- this was indicated anywhere. Pool closed for season despite it saying open through Labor Day and this was not indicated anywhere either. Fellow campers left their manners at home- barking dogs everywhere and kids riding and walking through campsites. Not the weekend we hoped for.

| Gorgeous Park!

We really enjoyed our stay here! The park is beautiful and peaceful, staff friendly, clean and well maintained restrooms, laundry facilities, and showers. Helpful campground hosts, fun fishing, hatchery, and museum for the kids. Pool is extra, Verizon is the only cell service that works, electric hookups only, public/community water spigots, dump station, general store on site sells bait, firewood, ice, essentials. If you love to Trout fish, then this is the place for you!

| Nice for few days

Well kept park. Spaces are wide & open. Roads are a little narrow. We were near the back of campground 1 & the road was one car wide but both ways, lots of pulling off in the grass. Only 3 stars because there wasn't water at the campsite (it is placed every few spaces but you need 100-200ft of hose to fill up, otherwise you're stopped in the single car wide road filling up) & it seemed everything was closed. The trail to the spring wasn't accessible due to renovations at the hatchery. Which also meant the fishing wasn't what we expected because the hatchery was shut down. Two of the 5 trails were closed. Otherwise I would have given 4 stars. People were all very nice & everything was well priced. Nice general store next to campground where you get a fishing license & day permit. $10 for an out of state adult to fish for a day.
